HUNGARIAN GP QUALIFYING: LÓPEZ TAKES FIFTH ROW, VIETTI STOPS IN Q1
The second day at the Balaton Park Circuit is in the books for the Sync SpeedRS Team. Alonso López finished qualifying in P14, while Celestino Vietti was unable to advance past Q1.
The Madrilenian struggled with some grip issues in FP2, finishing in P18 with a time of 1’41.471. In qualifying, he pushed to the maximum during the time attack but couldn’t find the perfect lap. Still, he managed to improve. With a lap time of 1’40.957, López will start tomorrow from the fifth row, aiming to gain positions and fight his way into the leading group.
Greater difficulties were experienced by Vietti, who after finishing FP2 in P22 (1’41.602) could not find the right pace in Q1. His best lap of 1’41.425 earned him ninth place in the session, not enough to reach Q2. Celestino will start from the eighth row in 23rd position, with a race ahead that will require a full comeback.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 14th in 1’40.957
“This morning we had some grip difficulties, which affected us a bit. In Q2 I was able to improve my time, but not as much as we hoped to be further up the grid. Starting from the fifth row isn’t bad, but it will be crucial to have a good start and gain positions from the very first corners, especially since overtaking here is really difficult”.
CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 23rd in 1’41.425
“It was a tough day, we worked hard and managed to improve, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get into Q2. Now we’ll focus on analyzing the data to make a step forward. Tomorrow will be a challenging race to try and come back, but the team and I will give our absolute best to achieve the best possible result”.
