Il team torna dal French GP con punti importanti al termine di una gara caotica e ricca di colpi di scena, disputata in condizioni meteo estremamente variabili e segnata da una bandiera rossa che ha trasformato la corsa in un vero e proprio sprint finale.

Celestino Vietti ha concluso in sesta posizione una gara complessa ma combattuta fino all’ultimo giro. Gara 1, inizialmente dichiarata bagnata e ridotta da 22 a 14 giri, aveva visto il numero 13 protagonista di una partenza straordinaria: nel giro di poche curve, Vietti è infatti riuscito a risalire fino alla quinta posizione, lanciandosi immediatamente all’inseguimento del gruppo di testa. La bandiera rossa esposta al terzo giro ha però cambiato completamente lo scenario della corsa. Alla ripartenza, effettuata con quick start procedure su pista asciutta e ulteriormente accorciata a soli 9  giri, Vietti è rimasto coinvolto in un contatto nelle prime fasi che ha causato la caduta di Baltus. L’episodio è costato al pilota italiano un long lap penalty. Rientrato in pista in ottava posizione dopo aver scontato la penalità, Celestino ha dato il via a una nuova rimonta, riuscendo a difendersi dagli attacchi di Agius e a conquistare un prezioso sesto posto finale, mantenendo così la quarta posizione nella classifica generale del campionato.

Weekend in crescendo anche per Luca Lunetta, autore di una prestazione solida e determinata dopo un fine settimana complicato. Scattato dalla ventottesima posizione in griglia, il pilota romano ha recuperando immediatamente numerose posizioni fino a inserirsi nella lotta per la zona punti. Grazie anche alla squalifica di Holgado, il numero 32 ha chiuso in sedicesima posizione, sfiorando la top 15.

“Tutto sommato è stata una buona domenica a livello di velocità. Mi dispiace per quanto accaduto con Baltus: non è mai bello causare una caduta. In quel momento non sono riuscito a evitare il contatto e la penalità è stata giusta, anche se con una gara così corta ci ha penalizzato parecchio. In generale è stato comunque un weekend positivo, anche grazie al lavoro fatto sul cambio sospensioni. Abbiamo lavorato bene come squadra e il feeling è stato immediatamente buono. Ora guardiamo a Barcellona con l’obiettivo di essere davanti. Grazie a tutti!”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P16

“Sono molto contento di questa domenica di gare. Arrivavo da un periodo difficile, dopo diversi infortuni, e riuscire a recuperare tante posizioni con dei bei sorpassi mi dà molta fiducia in vista di Barcellona e del resto del campionato. Stiamo lavorando senza sosta con il team per migliorare il più velocemente possibile in questa nuova categoria per me. Voglio ringraziare tutti i ragazzi della squadra e ovviamente Luca Boscoscuro. Abbiamo ancora del lavoro da fare sul setup della moto, ma abbiamo le idee chiare sulle aree in cui migliorare. Grazie a tutti e ci vediamo a Barcellona!”.

VIETTI FINISHES SIXTH AT THE FRENCH GP AFTER RED FLAG AND LONG LAP PENALTY. LUNETTA CLOSE TO THE POINTS

The team leaves the French GP with important championship points after a chaotic and action-packed race held in extremely variable weather conditions and heavily influenced by a red flag that turned the event into a final sprint.

Celestino Vietti finished sixth after a complex race fought until the very last lap. Race 1, initially declared wet and shortened from 22 to 14 laps, saw the #13 rider make an outstanding start, climbing up to fifth place within just a few corners and immediately joining the battle at the front. However, the red flag shown on lap three completely changed the race scenario. The restart, carried out with a quick start procedure on a dry track and further reduced to only nine laps, saw Vietti involved in an early-race contact that caused Baltus to crash. The incident resulted in a long lap penalty for the Italian rider. After serving the penalty and rejoining in eighth position, Celestino launched another comeback, successfully defending from Agius’ attacks and securing a valuable sixth-place finish, while also maintaining fourth position in the overall championship standings.

A positive and improving weekend as well for Luca Lunetta, who delivered a solid and determined performance after a difficult weekend. Starting from 28th on the grid, the rider from Rome produced an aggressive and effective comeback, immediately gaining several positions and joining the fight for the points. Thanks also to Holgado’s disqualification, the #32 rider finished 16th, narrowly missing out on the top 15.

“Overall, it was a good Sunday in terms of pace. I’m sorry about what happened with Baltus because it’s never nice to cause another rider to crash. In that moment I couldn’t avoid the contact, so the penalty was fair, even if in such a short race it cost us a lot. In general, it was still a positive weekend, also thanks to the work we did with the suspension changes. We worked well as a team and the feeling was immediately good. Now we look ahead to Barcelona with the goal of fighting at the front. Thanks to everyone!”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P16

“I’m really happy with this race Sunday. I was coming from a difficult period after several injuries, and being able to recover so many positions with some good overtakes gives me a lot of confidence for Barcelona and the rest of the championship. We are working nonstop with the team to improve as quickly as possible in this new category for me. I want to thank all the guys in the team and of course Luca Boscoscuro.
