Si chiude con sensazioni contrastanti la seconda giornata del French GP per il Folladore SpeedRS Team, che scatterà dalla terza fila con Celestino Vietti e dalla decima con Luca Lunetta.

Vietti ha confermato fin dalle FP2 l’ottimo feeling mostrato già nella giornata di ieri. Il numero 13 ha chiuso la seconda sessione di prove libere in quinta posizione grazie al tempo di 1’34.442, dimostrando competitività e costanza sul tracciato francese. In Q2, Vietti è sceso in pista con grande determinazione. Nonostante una bandiera gialla abbia complicato gli ultimi minuti della sessione, il pilota italiano era già riuscito a siglare il proprio miglior crono in 1’34.146, tempo che gli è valso la nona posizione finale e la terza fila in vista della gara di domani.

Sabato in salita invece per Luca Lunetta, rookie Moto2 al debutto sul circuito di Le Mans. Il pilota di Roma ha chiuso l’ultima di libera in ventiseiesima posizione con il tempo di 1’35.905, proseguendo il lavoro di adattamento a una pista particolarmente impegnativa. Anche la Q1 non ha portato il risultato sperato: Lunetta ha fermato il cronometro sull’1’35.187, chiudendo in ventottesima posizione e mancando così l’accesso alla Q2. Per il giovane pilota del Folladore SpeedRS Team sarà quindi fondamentale dare il massimo in gara per costruire una rimonta dalla decima fila della griglia.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P9 in 1’34.146

“Sono soddisfatto della giornata di oggi. Abbiamo mostrato una buona velocità sia questa mattina con le gomme usate sia nel pomeriggio. Non sono invece del tutto contento di come ho gestito la qualifica, perché ho commesso qualche errore e non sono riuscito a mettere insieme il giro perfetto. Anche la bandiera gialla non ci ha aiutato, ma siamo comunque molto vicini ai primi e questo è positivo.Speriamo di poter fare una gara sull’asciutto domani”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P28 in 1’35.187

“Stiamo lavorando tantissimo con il team per capire al meglio la moto e questa categoria, che per me è nuova. È fondamentale essere precisi e attenti sotto ogni punto di vista. La scivolata durante la practice di ieri ci ha insegnato molto, soprattutto per quanto riguarda il set-up della moto: possiamo definirla un’esperienza costruttiva. Questa mattina ho ritrovato ritmo nei long run con la stessa gomma, per recuperare feeling con la moto, anche se non eravamo ancora molto veloci. In qualifica, invece, ho ritrovato la bella sensazione di venerdì mattina, quando mi sentivo più competitivo. Domani sarà una gara di apprendimento, in cui dovrò continuare a crescere e acquisire sempre più fiducia con la Moto2, seguendo i miei obiettivi e quelli del team: migliorare passo dopo passo. Ringrazio tutti per il supporto, la squadra è fantastica e mi sostiene al 100%. Grazie a tutti!”.

FRENCH GP QUALIFYING: VIETTI CLAIMS THIRD ROW, LUNETTA READY TO FIGHT BACK

The second day of the French GP ended with mixed feelings for the Folladore SpeedRS Team, which will line up from the third row with Celestino Vietti and from the tenth row with Luca Lunetta.

Vietti confirmed the strong feeling he had already shown yesterday right from FP2. Rider #13 finished the second free practice session in fifth place with a time of 1’34.442, showing both competitiveness and consistency around the French circuit. In Q2, Vietti headed out with great determination. Despite a yellow flag complicating the final minutes of the session, the Italian rider had already managed to set his best lap in 1’34.146, a time that secured him ninth place overall and a third-row start for tomorrow’s race.

A more challenging Saturday, meanwhile, for Luca Lunetta, the Moto2 rookie making his debut at Le Mans. The Roman rider finished the final free practice session in twenty-sixth position with a time of 1’35.905, continuing his adaptation work on a particularly demanding track. Q1 also failed to bring the hoped-for result: Lunetta stopped the clock at 1’35.187, finishing twenty-eighth and narrowly missing out on a place in Q2. For the young Folladore SpeedRS Team rider, it will therefore be crucial to give everything in the race and build a comeback from the tenth row of the grid.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P9 in 1’34.146
“I’m satisfied with today’s work. We showed good speed both this morning on used tyres and again this afternoon. I’m not completely happy with how I managed qualifying because I made a few mistakes and wasn’t able to put together the perfect lap. The yellow flag didn’t help either, but we are still very close to the front and that’s a positive sign. Hopefully we can have a dry race tomorrow”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P28 in 1’35.187

“We’re working extremely hard with the team to better understand both the bike and this category, which is completely new to me. It’s essential to be precise and focused in every aspect. The crash during yesterday’s practice taught us a lot, especially regarding the bike set-up: we can definitely consider it a constructive experience. This morning I regained some rhythm during the long runs using the same tyre, which helped me recover confidence with the bike, even if we still weren’t very fast. In qualifying, however, I rediscovered the good feeling I had on Friday morning, when I felt more competitive. Tomorrow’s race will be another learning experience, where I’ll need to keep improving and building confidence with the Moto2 bike, following both my own goals and those of the team: to improve step by step.
