VIETTI FIRMA IL NUOVO RECORD DEL SACHSENRING E CHIUDE AL COMANDO LE PROVE DEL VENERDÌ. LÓPEZ STRAPPA L’ULTIMO PASS PER LA Q2

Il penultimo round della stagione prima della pausa estiva si apre positivamente per il Folladore SpeedRS Team. Al Sachsenring, Vietti si è imposto nella Practice conquistando la prima posizione e registrando un nuovo record assoluto della pista. López, invece, si è assicurato l’ultimo posto disponibile per l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani.

La giornata di Celestino è iniziata con il decimo tempo nelle FP1 in 1’23.381, ma è nel pomeriggio che il pilota italiano ha mostrato il suo potenziale. Con un solo pit stop, il numero 13 del team ha segnato il suo miglior giro in 1’22.329, firmando così il nuovo all-time lap record del tracciato tedesco e chiudendo in cima alla classifica.

Giornata in salita per Alonso, incappato in una caduta a dieci minuti dal termine della FP1. Nonostante l’interruzione anticipata della sessione, il pilota spagnolo è riuscito comunque a chiudere con il dodicesimo tempo in 1’23.414. Nel pomeriggio le difficoltà sono aumentate. Tuttavia, grazie a un intervento mirato sul setup e a un cambio gomme strategico, il numero 21 ha fermato il cronometro in 1’22.925. Un tempo che gli è valso la quattordicesima posizione e, soprattutto, l’ultimo posto disponibile per l’accesso diretto alla Q2.

“È stata una buona giornata e sono soddisfatto, perché questa non è una delle mie piste preferite e in passato ho sempre fatto molta fatica. Però, già dall’anno scorso ho iniziato a capire qualcosa in più, e anche quest’anno sta andando meglio. Il feeling con la moto è buono fin da questa mattina; devo ancora sistemare qualcosa, soprattutto nello stile di guida. Per il momento, quindi, il weekend è iniziato bene e stiamo andando nella direzione giusta. Domani le condizioni meteo saranno diverse, ma speriamo di confermarci anche sul bagnato. L’obiettivo è quello di partire nelle prime due file, cosa molto importante su questa pista, visto che è difficile sorpassare”.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 14° in 1’.22.925

“Tutto sommato è stata una giornata positiva. Questa è una pista molto tecnica e non è facile trovare subito il ritmo giusto. Stiamo iniziando a vedere i frutti del lavoro che stiamo portando avanti con il team, ed è sicuramente un segnale incoraggiante. Continueremo a lavorare con costanza per migliorare passo dopo passo: la direzione è quella giusta. Domani puntiamo a fare una buona qualifica”.

The penultimate round before the summer break kicks off positively for the Folladore SpeedRS Team. At the Sachsenring, Vietti dominated the Practice session by taking first place and setting a new all-time lap record at the circuit. Meanwhile, López managed to secure the last available spot for direct access to tomorrow’s Q2.

Celestino’s day began with the tenth fastest time in FP1, clocking a 1’23.381. However, it was in the afternoon that the Italian rider showcased his true potential. With just one pit stop, the number 13 set his best lap at 1’22.329, breaking the all-time lap record at the German track and finishing on top of the standings.

It was an uphill day for Alonso, who suffered a crash ten minutes before the end of FP1. Despite the early end to his session, the Spanish rider still managed to post the 12th fastest time with a 1’23.414. In the afternoon, challenges persisted but thanks to a targeted setup adjustment and a strategic tire change, the number 21 stopped the clock at 1’22.925—a time that earned him 14th place and, more importantly, the last available spot for direct entry into Q2.

“It was a good day and I’m satisfied, especially since this hasn’t been one of my favorite tracks and I’ve always struggled here in the past. But starting from last year, I began to understand it a bit more, and this year things are going better. The feeling with the bike has been good since this morning; I still need to fine-tune a few things, especially with my riding style. For now, the weekend has started well, and we’re heading in the right direction. Tomorrow, the weather conditions will be different, but hopefully we can stay competitive even in the wet. The goal is to start from the first two rows, which is very important on this track, as overtaking is difficult”.

“All in all, it was a positive day. This is a very technical track, and it’s not easy to immediately find the right rhythm. We’re starting to see the results of the work we’ve been doing with the team, and that’s definitely an encouraging sign. We’ll keep working steadily to improve step by step: the direction is the right one. Tomorrow, we aim to have a strong qualifying session”.
