PRIMO GIORNO POSITIVO AL GP D’AUSTRIA PER IL SYNC SPEEDRS TEAM. P4 PER VIETTI E P11 PER LÓPEZ: ENTRAMBI DIRETTI IN Q2

Dopo tre settimane di pausa, il Campionato Moto2 riparte a tutto gas in Austria, sul veloce e tecnico tracciato del Red Bull Ring. Un circuito speciale per i nostri piloti: Vietti ha trionfato qui negli ultimi due anni, mentre López ha conquistato un prestigioso secondo posto nel 2024.

La prima giornata di prove ha portato risultati incoraggianti per il Sync SpeedRS Team: Vietti ha chiuso in quarta posizione, López in undicesima. Entrambi si sono assicurati l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani.

Nelle FP1, il pilota italiano ha mostrato un ottimo passo, soprattutto dopo il cambio gomme e alcune modifiche di setup, chiudendo con il settimo tempo in 1’33.806. Nella Practice pomeridiana, Celestino ha alzato ulteriormente il livello e a pochi minuti dalla fine della prova, ha fermato il cronometro su un brillante 1’33.373, che gli è valso la quarta posizione.

Anche López ha confermato il buon feeling con la pista austriaca. Nelle FP1, il numero 21 ha ottenuto il quinto tempo in 1’33.729 dopo il pit stop. Nel turno del pomeriggio, Alonso non è riuscito a migliorare sensibilmente, ma il crono di 1’33.683 gli ha comunque garantito l’undicesima posizione.

“Sono abbastanza soddisfatto di questa prima giornata. Stamattina il feeling con la moto è stato subito buono e siamo riusciti a trovare un buon ritmo, soprattutto dopo il pit stop. Nel pomeriggio non sono riuscito a migliorarmi quanto avrei voluto, ma il tempo fatto è bastato per entrare direttamente in Q2, e questo era l’obiettivo principale. Domani cercheremo di fare un ulteriore passo avanti per essere più competitivi in qualifica e giocarci le posizioni che contano”.

“Prima giornata positiva: siamo stati competitivi sia al mattino che al pomeriggio. Il feeling con la moto è buono, anche se dobbiamo rifinire gli ultimi dettagli per essere il più a posto possibile, sia per la gara che per domani, in modo da ottenere un buon tempo. Le sensazioni sono buone, quindi speriamo di continuare così”.

After a three-week break, the Moto2 Championship roars back into action in Austria, on the fast and technical Red Bull Ring. A special circuit for our riders: Vietti has taken victory here in each of the past two years, while López claimed a prestigious second place in 2024.

The opening day of practice brought encouraging results for the Sync SpeedRS Team: Vietti finished in fourth place, López in eleventh. Both secured direct access to tomorrow’s Q2.

In FP1, the Italian rider showed strong pace, especially after a tyre change and some setup adjustments, ending the session with the seventh-fastest time of 1’33.806. In the afternoon Practice session, Celestino raised the bar once again and, just minutes before the end, clocked an impressive 1’33.373, earning him fourth place.

López also confirmed his good feeling with the Austrian track. In FP1, the number 21 posted the fifth-fastest time, 1’33.729, after his pit stop. In the afternoon session, Alonso was unable to improve significantly, but his lap of 1’33.683 was enough to secure 11th place overall.

“I’m quite satisfied with this first day. This morning the feeling with the bike was immediately good, and we managed to find a good rhythm, especially after the pit stop. In the afternoon I couldn’t improve as much as I wanted, but the time we set was enough to go straight into Q2, and that was the main goal. Tomorrow we’ll try to take another step forward to be more competitive in qualifying and fight for the top positions”.

“It’s been a positive first day: we were competitive both in the morning and in the afternoon. The feeling with the bike is good, although we still need to fine-tune the last details to be as ready as possible, both for the race and for tomorrow, so we can set a good lap time. The sensations are good, so hopefully we can keep going like this”.
