QUALIFICHE GP DI CATALOGNA: QUARTA E QUINTA FILA PER LÓPEZ E VIETTI

Le qualifiche del GP di Catalogna sono da poco giunte al termine. López scatterà domani dalla quarta fila, mentre Vietti prenderà il via dalla quinta.

Ottimo avvio per Celestino: in FP2 ha fermato il cronometro in 1’42.132, chiudendo la sessione in terza posizione. In Q1 il pilota italiano aveva segnato un eccellente 1’41.780, tempo che sarebbe valso il miglior crono della sessione, ma il giro è stato annullato per track limits. Con il tempo valido di 1’42.135, il numero 13 si è comunque piazzato terzo e ha ottenuto l’accesso alla Q2. Qui una scivolata alla curva 5 ha condizionato i suoi ultimi tentativi, chiudendo infine in 15esima posizione (1’42.210). Domani partirà dalla quinta fila.

Strategia diversa per Alonso: nell’ultima sessione di libere ha lavorato sul passo gara senza quindi mai rientrare ai box, terminando ventesimo in 1’43.010. In Q2, nonostante un errore sul finale che l’ha portato fuori pista, López è riuscito con il crono di 1’42.024 a prendersi l’undicesima posizione e dunque la quarta fila della griglia.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 11° in 1’42.024

“Partire dalla quarta fila non è per niente male. Abbiamo lavorato bene oggi sul passo gara e domani cercheremo di sfruttare ogni opportunità per risalire la classifica. Daremo il massimo per ottenere un buon risultato per il team e portare a casa qualche punto”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 15° in 1’42.210

“Tutto sommato una giornata positiva. Abbiamo fatto un bello step da ieri e abbiamo migliorato sia il giro veloce che il ritmo. Un peccato che in Q2, quando ho messo la gomma nuova, non sono riuscito a completare neanche un giro. Per questo partiamo dalla quinta fila. Domani sarà importante gestire l’anteriore e cercare di recuperare il più possibile”.

CATALAN GP QUALIFYING : LÓPEZ AND VIETTI TO START FROM FOURTH AND FIFTH ROW

The qualifying session for the Catalan GP has just concluded. López will start tomorrow from the fourth row, while Vietti will start from the fifth.

Great start for Celestino: in FP2 he clocked a 1’42.132, finishing the session in third position. In Q1, the Italian rider had set an excellent 1’41.780, a time that would have been the fastest of the session, but the lap was canceled due to track limits. With a valid time of 1’42.135, number 13 still finished third and advanced to Q2. There, a crash at Turn 5 affected his final attempts, ultimately finishing in 15th position (1’42.210). Tomorrow he will start from the fifth row.

A different strategy for Alonso: in the last free practice session, he focused on race pace and never returned to the pits, finishing twentieth with a 1’43.010. In Q2, despite an error at the end that took him off track, López managed a 1’42.024 to secure 11th place and thus the fourth row on the grid.

“Starting from the fourth row isn’t bad at all. We worked well today on race pace, and tomorrow we’ll try to make the most of every opportunity to move up the standings. We’ll give our best to get a good result for the team and take home some points”.

“Overall, a positive day. We made a good step forward from yesterday and improved both our lap time and pace. It’s a pity that in Q2, when I put on new tires, I couldn’t complete a single lap. That’s why we start from the fifth row. Tomorrow it will be important to manage the front tire and try to recover as much as possible”.
