GP DEL GIAPPONE: VIETTI CENTRA LA Q2, LÓPEZ PASSERÀ PER LA Q1

Il Beta Tools SpeedRS Team è tornato in pista al Mobility Resort Motegi per il diciassettesimo round della stagione 2025, che inaugura la seconda parte del tour oltreoceano. La prima giornata si chiude con Celestino Vietti direttamente in Q2 grazie all’undicesimo tempo, mentre Alonso Lopez dovrà affrontare la Q1 dopo aver chiuso in sedicesima posizione.

Un avvio incoraggiante per Vietti, che sul tracciato giapponese conserva ricordi speciali legati ai primi punti conquistati al debutto mondiale. Nelle FP1 il numero 13 ha effettuato una sola sosta ai box per un rapido cambio gomme, fermando il cronometro in 1’49.739, tempo che gli è valso la nona posizione. Nel pomeriggio, dopo alcuni affinamenti alla sua Boscoscuro, Vietti ha sfruttato la gomma nuova chiudendo in P10 con il tempo di 1’49.126, guadagnandosi così l’accesso diretto alla Q2.

Giornata più complessa invece per Alonso. Lo spagnolo ha terminato le FP1 con il tredicesimo tempo in 1’49.872, mentre nelle Practice ha dovuto fare i conti con qualche problema in frenata che ha limitato la possibilità di entrare direttamente  in Q2. Inoltre, una bandiera gialla al primo settore nell’ultimo giro utile, gli ha impedito di migliorarsi ulteriormente. López ha così concluso il venerdì giapponese in 1’49.303, tempo che lo costringe a passare per la Q1.

“È stata una giornata complicata: ho avuto qualche difficoltà in frenata che mi ha impedito di centrare l’accesso diretto alla Q2. Sono fiducioso però che, una volta risolto questo dettaglio, domani potremo fare un passo avanti importante. L’obiettivo è superare la Q1 e giocarci poi una buona qualifica”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 11° in 1’49.126

“Siamo partiti abbastanza bene qui in Giappone. Tutti sono andati molto forte già da subito perchè la pista è in buone condizioni e l’uso delle gomme morbide ha dato una mano. Abbiamo fatto dei passi avanti dal mattino al pomeriggio, ma non è ancora sufficiente: non siamo riusciti a colmare completamente il gap dai primi. Tuttavia, stiamo lavorando nella giusta direzione. È stato importante entrare in Q2 e domani puntiamo a fare ancora meglio”.

JAPANESE GP: VIETTI SECURES Q2, LÓPEZ TO GO THROUGH Q1

The Beta Tools SpeedRS Team returned to the track at Mobility Resort Motegi  for the seventeenth round of the 2025 season, marking the start of the second part of the overseas tour. The first day ended with Celestino Vietti directly in Q2 thanks to the eleventh fastest time, while Alonso López will have to go through Q1 after finishing sixteenth.

It was an encouraging start for Vietti, who has special memories of the Japanese track, where he scored his first points in his world championship debut. In FP1, the #13 rider made only one pit stop for a quick tire change, setting a time of 1’49.739, which earned him ninth position. In the afternoon, after some adjustments to his Boscoscuro bike, Vietti took advantage of new tires, finishing P10 with a time of 1’49.126, securing direct access to Q2.

It was a more challenging day for Alonso. The Spaniard ended FP1 in 13th with a time of 1’49.872, while in practice he faced some braking issues that limited his chances of entering Q2 directly. Additionally, a yellow flag in the first sector during his last flying lap prevented him from improving further. López thus finished the Japanese Friday with a time of 1’49.303, outside the top 14, and will have to start from Q1.

“It was a tough day: I had some braking issues that prevented me from securing direct access to Q2. However, I am confident that once we sort this out, we can make an important step forward tomorrow. The goal is to get through Q1 and then aim for a strong qualifying session”.

“We got off to a pretty good start here in Japan. Everyone was fast right from the start because the track is in good condition, and the soft tires helped a lot. We made progress from morning to afternoon, but it’s still not enough: we haven’t managed to close the gap to the front completely. However, we are working in the right direction. It was important to get into Q2, and tomorrow we aim to do even better”.
