DIFFICULT DAY FOR THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM RIDERS IN THE FIRST DAY OF THE AUSTRALIAN GP

The Beta Tools SpeedRS Team has landed on the other side of the world, in the “land down under,” to take on the Australian Grand Prix. However, the first day of practice did not bring the results hoped for: both riders ended Friday outside direct Q2, in twenty-third and twenty-sixth positions.

The day opened with the usual unpredictable Australian weather, which complicated the FP1 session. Number 21 chose to wait for better conditions before going out on track, but once he did, he didn’t complete even two valid laps due to a crash that compromised his session. Unable to work on his Boscoscuro, Alonso tried to make up ground in the afternoon, but he was not able to qualify directly for Q2. With a time of 1’31.557, he finished in P23 and will aim to redeem himself tomorrow.

It was not any better for Vietti, who suffered a crash in FP1 that forced him to finish the session in P18 with a lap time of 1’32.965. In the afternoon, another crash made his work even more difficult, preventing him from completing the practice sessions in the best possible way. Celestino ended in P26 with a time of 1’32.180 and will face Q1 tomorrow.

“Today was not an easy day. FP1 was tricky from the start: I had a crash that prevented me from completing the necessary laps to test the setup, and this affected the rest of the day. In the afternoon we tried to recover, but we weren’t able to put together the right lap to go directly into Q2. Obviously, this is not what we wanted, but tomorrow is a new day”.
