#ARAGP – ARAGÓN GP: VIETTI SECURES DIRECT Q2 SPOT WITH FIFTH-FASTEST TIME. LUNETTA OUTSIDE THE TOP 14

The Folladore SpeedRS Team closes the opening day of the Aragón Grand Prix on a positive note. Celestino Vietti secured fifth place, earning direct passage to tomorrow’s Q2. Luca Lunetta, meanwhile, finished in 20th position and will have to go through Q1.

Vietti used the 40-minute FP1 session to work on the bike’s set-up and adapt to several changes, focusing on finding the best possible compromise. The #13 rider finished the morning session in 11th position with a time of 1’51.444. In the afternoon, with significantly different track conditions and temperatures more than ten degrees higher than in the morning, Vietti made an important step forward. The Folladore SpeedRS Team rider progressively improved his pace, finding his fastest lap on his final attempt. His 1’50.296 placed him fifth overall and, most importantly, secured his direct spot in tomorrow’s Q2.

Luca Lunetta also showed positive signs during the opening free practice session. The #32 rider immediately demonstrated a good feeling with the Aragón circuit, finishing FP1 in 13th position with a time of 1’51.540. During the afternoon Practice, however, Lunetta struggled slightly more to put together a lap at his full potential. The Roman rider eventually finished the session in 20th position with a time of 1’50.783, leaving him outside the top 14.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P5 – 1:50.296

“It was a good Friday. We are trying different solutions to improve the feeling with the bike, and we made an important step forward from the morning to the afternoon. The final run was really positive and gave us some good indications. Now we need to focus on the details and keep working to arrive ready for FP2 and prepare as well as possible for the race”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P20 – 1:50.783

“I’m very happy with this Friday. The feeling with the bike is really good, and we started from a solid set-up base that allowed us to work well from the very beginning. We missed direct access to Q2 by just one tenth, but it was definitely within our reach. The team is working extremely hard, and I’m giving everything I have to keep moving forward. I’m very confident for the rest of the weekend. I love this track, and we’ll do everything we can to bring home a strong result”.
