#BRAZILIANGP – BRAZILIAN GP: MOTO2 QUALIFYING POSTPONED TO SUNDAY, MARCH 22. VIETTI P9 AND FOGGIA P16 IN FP2
An unusual and eventful day for the HDR SpeedRS Team at the Brazilian GP. Due to heavy rain in recent days, damage occurred to the asphalt on the main straight earlier today, requiring immediate repairs by track workers. This led to the postponement of all afternoon sessions. After several decisions throughout the day, Race Direction ultimately decided to postpone the Moto2 qualifying sessions to tomorrow, Sunday, March 22. Q1 is scheduled for 9:40 AM (UTC -3), while Q2 will take place at 10:05 AM. The race, for now, remains confirmed for 1:15 PM local time.
As for the morning, FP2 took place in ideal conditions, with a completely dry track, allowing the riders to work effectively on both setup and race pace.
It was a positive session for both HDR SpeedRS Team riders. Dennis made an important step forward, significantly improving his lap time and reducing the gap to the front. With a time of 1’22.174, rider number 8 finished the session in sixteenth position, showing good progress ahead of qualifying.
Celestino also delivered a very solid performance, maintaining a competitive pace throughout the session and, without making any pit stops, finished in ninth position with a time of 1’21.986.
The team is now ready to face an intense Sunday, with both qualifying and the race scheduled on the same day.
CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P9 in 1’21.986
“It was definitely a different Saturday than usual. Unfortunately, due to this issue, we couldn’t run qualifying, but this morning we still had a good session and the pace was good, with a good feeling in the dry. Now we wait for tomorrow’s qualifying, where it will be very important to start near the front, because it’s a short and twisty track where overtaking is not easy. The goal is therefore to secure a good grid position”.
DENNIS FOGGIA #8: P16 in 1’22.174
“It was a positive day. This morning we rode in dry conditions and I’m happy because, after a long time, I managed to get under one second from the leaders, about eight tenths. The gaps are still very small and we are all very close. Let’s see what happens tomorrow: first qualifying and then the race. We keep gaining experience ahead of America”.
