It was a difficult Friday for the MB Conveyors SpeedRS Team at the Balaton Park Circuit, host of the eighth round of the Moto2 World Championship. Celestino Vietti and Luca Lunetta were unable to secure direct access to Q2, finishing the Practice in 18th and 20th position respectively.

The day had started on a positive note for Celestino Vietti, immediately competitive in FP1 with the third-fastest time of 1’41.290. In the afternoon, however, his session was affected by a technical issue that interrupted his work while he was consistently running inside the top six. Unable to improve his lap time, Vietti dropped to 18th with a 1’41.153 and will be forced, for the first time this season, to take part in Q1 tomorrow.

A learning weekend instead for Luca Lunetta, making his debut at the Hungarian circuit. The #32 rider used both sessions to gain confidence with the Balaton Park Circuit, showing steady progress throughout the day. After finishing FP1 in 18th with a 1’42.027, Lunetta significantly improved in the Practice, stopping the clock at 1’41.209. However, the time was not enough to secure a top-14 finish and direct access to Q2. He will therefore also go through Q1.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P18 in 1’41.153

“Overall, it was a positive day. After some setup changes and the third-fastest time this morning, I immediately felt comfortable on the bike. It’s a shame I wasn’t able to complete the time attack due to a technical issue, which will force us into Q1 tomorrow. We remain positive and will give our maximum effort to reach Q2”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P20 in 1’41.209

“A new track for me, nice and technical, almost like a karting circuit. It’s fun to ride here. We still need to make a few adjustments, understand the key points of the track, and improve sector 2, as well as fine-tune the bike setup. Tomorrow I’ll do a long run to better understand how we’ll manage the race on Sunday. In qualifying, for the single lap, we’re already quite ready. Today we keep working and we’re super motivated for tomorrow!”.
