QUALI SAN MARINO GP: PRIMA FILA PER VIETTI E IL BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM. LÓPEZ IN QUINTA

Al Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Celestino Vietti sfiora la pole position e conquista la prima fila in vista della gara di domani del San Marino GP. Buona qualifica anche per Alonso López, che scatterà dalla quinta fila.

Vietti ha confermato le ottime sensazioni già nelle FP2 del mattino, chiuse al comando con il tempo di 1’34.624, nuovo record della pista dopo quello stabilito ieri. In qualifica, con un giro straordinario all’ultimo tentativo, ha fermato il cronometro su 1’34.256, mancando la pole per appena quattro centesimi. Il numero 13 chiude con un prezioso secondo posto e una partenza dalla prima fila.

López ha mostrato progressi costanti, chiudendo l’ultima sessione di libere con un eccezionale quarto tempo (1’34.877). In qualifica ha trovato un buon ritmo e un ottimo feeling con la moto, non riuscendo però a compiere uno step che gli permettesse di avvicinarsi alle prime file. Con il 14° tempo scatterà domani dalla quinta fila, pronto a giocarsi le sue carte in gara.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 15° in 1’34.877

“Il feeling con la moto è buono ma bisogna lavorare e migliorarlo per la gara. Domani sarà una gara in cui dovremo lottare per avanzare giro dopo giro”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 2° in 1’34.256

“Sono molto contento, abbiamo gestito molto bene il weekend dal primo giorno. Finalmente dopo tanto lavoro abbiamo fatto una bella giornata di qualifiche, lo dovevo al mio team. Per domani, sarà importante partire bene e rimanere calmo, tutti qui hanno un ottimo ritmo, cercherò di dare il massimo, di fare una bella gara e di far divertire i miei fan. Qui ho anche una motivazione extra visto che sono vicino a casa mia”.

At the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Celestino Vietti narrowly missed pole position and secured a front-row start for tomorrow’s San Marino GP. A solid qualifying session also for Alonso López, who will start from the fifth row.

Vietti confirmed the excellent pace he had already shown in FP2 in the morning, which he topped with a lap of 1’34.624, a new track record after the one set yesterday. In qualifying, with a spectacular lap on his final attempt, he stopped the clock at 1’34.256, missing pole by just four hundredths. Rider #13 closes with a valuable second place and a front-row start.

López showed steady progress, ending the last free practice session with an excellent fourth time (1’34.877). In qualifying he found a good rhythm and strong feeling with the bike, but was unable to make that extra step to get closer to the front rows. With the 14th fastest time, he will line up tomorrow from the fifth row, ready to fight his way forward in the race.

“The feeling with the bike is good, but we need to keep working and improve it for the race. Tomorrow will be a race where we’ll have to fight to gain positions lap after lap”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 2nd in 1’34.256
“I’m very happy, we’ve managed the weekend really well from the first day. Finally, after so much hard work, we had a great qualifying day — I owed it to my team. For tomorrow, it will be important to get a good start and stay calm. Everyone here has a very strong pace, but I’ll try to give my best, have a good race, and entertain my fans. Here I also have extra motivation, since I’m racing close to home”.
