VIETTI CONQUISTA IL TERZO GRADINO DEL PODIO IN AUSTRIA. LÓPEZ CHIUDE 16° 

Il Gran Premio d’Austria si chiude con un podio per il Sync SpeedRS Team e Boscoscuro, grazie al terzo posto di Celestino Vietti. Meno fortunata la gara di Alonso López, che dopo un contatto nelle prime fasi ha chiuso in sedicesima posizione.

Dopo la doppietta di vittorie ottenute nelle ultime due edizioni al Red Bull Ring, Vietti ha confermato ancora una volta il suo feeling speciale con la pista austriaca. Scattato bene dalla griglia, ha superato Gonzalez e si è lanciato all’inseguimento di Holgado per la seconda posizione. La bagarre con David Alonso per il podio è stata però interrotta da un long lap penalty, che lo ha fatto retrocedere fino alla sesta piazza. Con grinta e determinazione, il pilota italiano ha rimontato su Arbolino e Arenas, sfruttando poi la caduta del numero #80 per conquistare il meritato terzo gradino del podio.

Gara tutta in salita invece per López, toccato da Agius subito dopo il via e costretto a finire fuori pista. Ripartito in ventottesima posizione, il pilota spagnolo ha iniziato una lunga rimonta che lo ha visto recuperare diverse posizioni, fino alla P16 finale, appena fuori dalla zona punti. 

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 16°

“Purtroppo la mia gara è stata compromessa subito dal contatto con Agius, che mi ha costretto a uscire di pista e a ripartire molto indietro. Sono rientrato in P28 e da lì ho solo pensato a spingere per recuperare più posizioni possibili. Alla fine ho chiuso sedicesimo, quindi appena fuori dalla zona punti, e chiaramente non è il risultato che volevo. Senza quell’episodio, avremmo potuto lottare per un piazzamento diverso”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 3°

“Non arrivavo da un periodo incredibile, ma con la squadra abbiamo lavorato molto per capire come colmare il gap dagli altri. Sicuramente questa pista mi ha aiutato e nel weekend abbiamo fatto uno step importante: sarà fondamentale confermarlo già in Ungheria. Se riusciremo a mantenere questa velocità fino a fine anno, potremo toglierci delle belle soddisfazioni. Sono contento del podio, anche se mi dispiace non aver potuto lottare fino in fondo per la vittoria. Durante la gara non ho capito bene dove avessi toccato il verde, quindi quando mi hanno comunicato il track limits ho semplicemente continuato a fare la mia gara. Va bene così, resta un po’ di amaro in bocca, ma la direzione è quella giusta”.

VIETTI CLAIMS THIRD PLACE ON THE PODIUM IN AUSTRIA. LÓPEZ FINISHES 16TH

The Austrian Grand Prix ends with a podium for the Sync SpeedRS Team and Boscoscuro, thanks to Celestino Vietti’s third place. Less fortunate was the race of Alonso López, who after a contact in the early stages had to settle for sixteenth position.

After his back-to-back victories in the last two editions at the Red Bull Ring, Vietti once again confirmed his special feeling with the Austrian track. After a strong start, he overtook Gonzalez and launched himself in pursuit of Holgado for second place. The battle with David Alonso for the podium was interrupted by a long lap penalty, which dropped him back to sixth position. With grit and determination, the Italian rider fought his way back, overtaking Arbolino and Arenas, and then taking advantage of the crash of #80 to secure a well-deserved third step of the podium.

A tough race instead for López, who was touched by Agius right after the start and forced off track. Rejoining in 28th position, the Spanish rider began a long comeback, climbing several places to eventually finish P16, just outside the points.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 16°

“Unfortunately, my race was immediately compromised by the contact with Agius, which forced me off track and to rejoin much further back. I came back in P28, and from there I just focused on pushing to recover as many positions as possible. In the end, I finished sixteenth, just outside the points, and clearly it’s not the result I wanted. Without that incident, we could have fought for a different position”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 3rd
“I wasn’t coming from an incredible period, but together with the team we worked hard to understand how to close the gap to the others. This track definitely helped me and we made a good step forward this weekend: it will be important to confirm this already in Hungary. If we can keep this speed until the end of the year, we can achieve some nice results. I’m happy with the podium, even if I regret not being able to fight until the end for the win. During the race I didn’t really understand where I had touched the green, so when they gave me the track limits penalty I just kept on with my race. It’s okay like this, there’s a bit of bitterness for not being able to try for the victory, but the direction is the right one”.
