Dopo due settimane di pausa dall’ultimo Gran Premio, lo SpeedRS Team torna in pista per il GP del Brasile con alcune novità. Oltre all’arrivo di Dennis Foggia, chiamato a sostituire l’infortunato Luca Lunetta, la squadra cambia look e si presenta con la livrea rosso fiammante del Main Sponsor HDR, partner che accompagnerà il team anche nel prossimo weekend americano.

Grande entusiasmo per il ritorno del Motomondiale in Brasile, assente dal calendario dal 2004, anno dell’ultima gara disputata a Rio de Janeiro. Per questa nuova tappa è stato scelto l’Autodromo Internacional de Goiânia, storico circuito che torna ad accogliere le due ruote dopo ben 37 anni.

La prima parte di giornata però, non ha sorriso ai piloti dell’HDR SpeedRS Team. La pioggia brasiliana ha infatti condizionato il programma, ritardando l’inizio delle FP1 alle 11:00 (UTC-3) e limitando la possibilità di lavorare subito sull’asciutto. La sessione, estesa a 50 minuti per consentire ai piloti di prendere maggiore confidenza con il tracciato, si è conclusa con Foggia in P15 (1’31.467) e Vietti in P5 (1’30.674).

Nel pomeriggio, invece, le Practice (posticipate anch’esse di un’ora ma tornate alla durata standard di 40 minuti) si sono svolte su pista asciutta, seppur con ancora alcune zone d’acqua. Celestino ha incontrato qualche difficoltà nella prima fase, senza riuscire inizialmente ad avvicinarsi alla top 14. Nella seconda parte però, dopo un cambio gomme, il numero 13 è migliorato progressivamente fino a firmare un ottimo 1’24.271. Un tempo che gli è valso la sesta posizione e l’accesso diretto alla Q2.

Più complicato invece l’esordio di Dennis Foggia in sella alla Boscoscuro. Il pilota di Roma ha faticato per gran parte della sessione, chiudendo in P28 e mancando il passaggio diretto alla Q2. Domani sarà quindi chiamato a passare in Q1.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P6 in 1’24.271

“Sono contento, è stato un buon venerdì. Siamo partiti bene sul bagnato: il feeling era positivo e siamo stati competitivi per tutta la sessione. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo incontrato qualche difficoltà in più a trovare il limite con la pista ancora a chiazze, ma da metà turno in poi, grazie anche a qualche riferimento, sono riuscito a migliorare molto. Abbiamo centrato la Q2, che era il nostro obiettivo, quindi al momento è tutto positivo. Speriamo di riuscire a fare un turno completamente asciutto per capire meglio il nostro potenziale, ma è sicuramente un buon inizio”.

DENNIS FOGGIA #8: P28 in 1’26.516

“È stata una giornata un po’ strana, soprattutto dopo tanto tempo senza salire sulla Moto2. Questa mattina, però, non è andata neanche male: eravamo a circa 1.2 secondi dal primo sul bagnato, quindi mi sono trovato abbastanza bene. Nel secondo turno, invece, le condizioni miste non mi hanno permesso di trovare buone sensazioni. Mi manca ancora un po’ di feeling e devo riadattarmi completamente alla Moto2. Ringrazio comunque tutta la squadra per il lavoro che stiamo facendo, mi stanno aiutando molto. Speriamo che domani le condizioni siano più stabili, completamente asciutto o completamente bagnato”.

BRAZILIAN GP: WITH THE SIXTH FASTEST TIME, VIETTI MAKES IT INTO Q2. FOGGIA TO Q1

After a two-week break since the last Grand Prix, the SpeedRS Team returns to the track for the Brazilian GP with some new developments. In addition to the arrival of Dennis Foggia, called up to replace the injured Luca Lunetta, the team also unveils a new look, featuring a bright red livery from main sponsor HDR, a partner that will be present at the American weekend as well.

There is great excitement for the return of the MotoGP World Championship to Brazil, absent from the calendar since 2004, the year of the last race held in Rio de Janeiro. For this new round, the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia has been chosen: a historic circuit that welcomes two-wheel racing again after 37 years.

The first part of the day, however, was not kind to the HDR SpeedRS Team riders. Brazilian rain disrupted the schedule, delaying the start of FP1 to 11:00 (UTC-3) and limiting the opportunity to work on a dry track. The session, extended to 50 minutes to allow riders more time to get familiar with the circuit, ended with Foggia in P15 (1’31.467) and Vietti in P5 (1’30.674).

In the afternoon, the Practice session (also delayed by one hour but returning to the standard 40-minute duration) took place on a dry track, although some wet patches remained. Celestino initially struggled in the early phase, unable to get close to the top 14. However, in the second part, after a tire change, the number 13 improved progressively, eventually setting an excellent 1’24.271 lap time. This earned him sixth position and direct access to Q2.

A more difficult debut, instead, for Dennis Foggia aboard the Boscoscuro bike. The rider from Rome struggled for most of the session, finishing in P28 and missing out on direct access to Q2. Tomorrow he will therefore have to go through Q1.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13:
“I’m happy, it was a good Friday. We started well in the wet: the feeling was positive and we were competitive throughout the session. In the afternoon we had a bit more difficulty finding the limit with the track still patchy, but from the middle of the session onward, also thanks to some references, I managed to improve a lot. We made it into Q2, which was our goal, so everything is positive for now. Hopefully we can have a fully dry session to better understand our potential, but it’s definitely a good start”.

DENNIS FOGGIA #8:
“It was a bit of a strange day, especially after such a long time away from Moto2. This morning, however, didn’t go too badly: we were about 1.2 seconds off the leader in the wet, so I felt quite comfortable. In the second session, though, the mixed conditions didn’t allow me to find a good feeling. I’m still lacking some confidence and need to fully readapt to Moto2. I still want to thank the whole team for the work we’re doing—they’re helping me a lot. Hopefully tomorrow the conditions will be more stable, either fully dry or fully wet”.
