Il sabato del Gran Premio d’Aragona si è concluso al MotorLand Aragón con Celestino Vietti in quindicesima posizione e Luca Lunetta in ventesima, rispettivamente in quinta e settima fila sulla griglia di partenza della gara di domani.

La giornata è iniziata con le FP2, sessione nella quale entrambi i piloti del Folladore SpeedRS Team hanno lavorato sulle diverse soluzioni tecniche a disposizione, raccogliendo dati preziosi in vista delle qualifiche. Vietti ha chiuso la sessione in P22, con il crono di 1’51.203, mentre Lunetta ha terminato in P28 in 1’51.816.

Nel pomeriggio, il numero 32 ha affrontato la Q1, riuscendo a migliorare il proprio riferimento fino all’1’50.427. Il crono, tuttavia, non è stato sufficiente per conquistare l’accesso alla fase decisiva. Luca scatterà quindi dalla ventesima posizione, in settima fila. 

Vietti, invece, ha avuto accesso diretto alla Q2. Il pilota di Ciriè ha effettuato diversi tentativi alla ricerca del giro ideale, ma alcune difficoltà nel time attack gli hanno impedito di sfruttare al meglio il potenziale della moto e di inserirsi nelle prime file dello schieramento. Celestino ha concluso la sessione in P16, ma partirà dalla quinta fila, in quindicesima posizione, grazie alla penalità inflitta a Baltus.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P16 in 1’50.522

“Non è stata la qualifica che ci aspettavamo. Mi è mancato qualcosa per essere più competitivo e per poter lottare per una posizione migliore. Domani non sarà facile, ma daremo il massimo per portare a casa il miglior risultato possibile”. 

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P20 in 1’50.427

“Sabato finito! Sono contento per tutti i passi in avanti che abbiamo fatto oggi. Questa mattina abbiamo provato alcune cose di setup importanti con le gomme usate e abbiamo trovato una direzione interessante da portare avanti.In qualifica è andata bene, anche se ci è mancato davvero un pizzico per passare in Q2. Ogni volta che scendiamo in pista riusciamo a migliorare, ma oggi ci è mancato quel decimino che ci avrebbe permesso di giocarci posizioni più avanti.La squadra sta facendo un lavorone e con la moto ho un ottimo feeling: mi sento forte e questo è sicuramente positivo. Per domani sono fiducioso, perché il potenziale c’è. Non vedo l’ora di scendere in pista domani. Grazie a tutti!”.

VIETTI AND LUNETTA QUALIFY FIFTH AND SEVENTH ROW FOR THE ARAGON GP

Saturday’s action at the MotorLand Aragón came to an end with Celestino Vietti qualifying in 15th position and Luca Lunetta in 20th, meaning they will start tomorrow’s race from the fifth and seventh rows respectively.

The day began with FP2, where both Folladore SpeedRS Team riders worked on the different technical solutions available, gathering valuable data ahead of qualifying. Vietti finished the session in P22 with a lap time of 1’51.203, while Lunetta ended FP2 in P28 with a 1’51.816.

In the afternoon, number 32 contested Q1 and managed to improve his benchmark to 1’50.427. However, the time was not enough to secure a place in the decisive Q2 session. Luca will therefore start tomorrow’s race from 20th position on the grid, on the seventh row.

Vietti, meanwhile, had secured direct access to Q2. The rider from made several attempts in search of the perfect lap, but some difficulties during the time attack prevented him from making the most of the bike’s potential and fighting for a position further up the grid. Celestino finished the session in P16, but will start from 15th position, on the fifth row, following Baltus’ penalty.

“It wasn’t the qualifying session we were expecting. I was missing something to be more competitive and fight for a better position. Tomorrow won’t be easy, but we’ll give it our all to bring home the best possible result”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P20 – 1’50.427

“Saturday is done! I’m happy with all the steps forward we made today. This morning we tried some important setup solutions with used tyres and found an interesting direction to follow. Qualifying went well, although we were just missing that little bit to make it through to Q2. Every time we go out on track we manage to improve, but today we were missing that one tenth that could have allowed us to fight for better positions. The team is doing a great job and I have a really good feeling with the bike. I feel strong, and that’s definitely a positive. I’m confident for tomorrow because the potential is there. I can’t wait to get out on track tomorrow. Thanks everyone!”.
