Si sono appena conclusi i test di Portimão per il Sync Group SpeedRS Team, impegnato nella prima fase di preparazione in vista della stagione 2026 del Campionato Mondiale Moto2.

Due giornate di lavoro complesse, condizionate da meteo instabile e da una bandiera rossa che ha limitato l’attività in pista nella seconda giornata, rendendo particolarmente impegnativa la messa a punto della B26.

Nella giornata di mercoledì, Lunetta è sceso in pista su asfalto bagnato, concentrandosi principalmente sul feeling con la moto e sull’adattamento alle condizioni difficili, più che sulla ricerca del giro veloce. Al termine del test, il pilota romano ha completato complessivamente 86 giri, con un crono di 1’46.317 come miglior tempo.

Test ancora più limitato per Vietti, che non ha preso parte alla prima giornata e ha completato soltanto 8 giri complessivi (5^tempo in 1’43.413). La seconda giornata è stata infatti interrotta da una bandiera rossa che, per motivi di sicurezza, non ha consentito la ripresa dell’attività in pista.

Le circostanze non hanno quindi permesso ai due piloti italiani di sviluppare pienamente il lavoro programmato e di compiere i progressi previsti in questa fase iniziale della preparazione.

Il Sync Group SpeedRS Team tornerà in pista il 16 e 17 febbraio a Jerez per affrontare l’ultima fase dei test ufficiali pre-stagionali: due giornate fondamentali per proseguire il lavoro di messa a punto della Boscoscuro e presentarsi al via della nuova stagione nelle migliori condizioni possibili.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13:
“È un grande peccato non aver potuto girare oggi. Abbiamo fatto solo un’uscita e le sensazioni erano positive. Speriamo di trovare buone condizioni a Jerez per riuscire a costruire una base solida in vista della stagione 2026”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32:
“Sono soddisfatto delle due giornate di test. Peccato per il meteo del secondo giorno, perché era importante fare più giri sull’asciutto. Speriamo di avere un po’ più di fortuna a Jerez, così da completare più chilometri e conoscere ancora meglio la moto. Non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista: sempre gas!”.

The tests in Portimão for the Sync Group SpeedRS Team have just concluded, marking the first phase of preparation for the 2026 Moto2 World Championship season.

Two days of complex work were affected by unstable weather and a red flag that limited track activity on the second day, making the setup of the B26 particularly challenging.

On Wednesday, Lunetta rode on wet asphalt, focusing mainly on feeling comfortable with the bike and adapting to difficult conditions, rather than chasing fast laps. By the end of the test, the rider from Rome completed a total of 86 laps, with a best time of 1’46.317.

The test was even more limited for Vietti, who did not participate on the first day and completed only 8 laps overall (5th fastest with a time of 1’43.413). The second day was interrupted by a red flag which, for safety reasons, did not allow track activity to resume.

These circumstances did not allow the two Italian riders to fully carry out the planned work or make the expected progress during this initial phase of preparation.

The Sync Group SpeedRS Team will return to the track on February 16 and 17 in Jerez for the final phase of the official pre-season tests: two crucial days to continue fine-tuning the Boscoscuro and arrive at the start of the new season in the best possible condition.

“It’s a real shame we couldn’t ride more today. We only did one outing, and the feeling was positive. Hopefully, we’ll find good conditions in Jerez so we can build a solid foundation for the 2026 season”.

“I’m satisfied with the two days of testing. It’s a pity about the weather on the second day, because it was important to do more laps on dry asphalt. Hopefully, we’ll have a bit more luck in Jerez, so we can complete more kilometers and get to know the bike even better. I can’t wait to get back on track: full throttle as always!”.
