CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P13 in 1’34.520
LUCA LUNETTA #32: P22 in 1’35.294
SAN MARINO GP: A CHALLENGING QUALIFYING SESSION FOR THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM
Saturday’s San Marino GP ended with a result below expectations for the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team, which will have to fight back in tomorrow’s race, with Celestino Vietti and Luca Lunetta starting from the fifth and eighth rows of the grid respectively.
The day began in wet conditions and, when the riders took to the track for FP2, the asphalt was still not completely dry, making preparation for qualifying particularly challenging. Vietti completed just five laps, setting the twentieth-fastest time in 1’36.694. Lunetta, on the other hand, enjoyed a more consistent session, beginning his work from the very first minutes and finishing in eleventh position with a lap time of 1’36.212.
In the afternoon, Luca contested Q1 but was unable to fully capitalise on the potential he had shown. The rider from Rome finished the session with the ninth-fastest time, a result that will see him start from twenty-second position on the grid, on the eighth row.
Celestino, who went directly into Q2, finished the session in sixteenth position, but following penalties handed to several riders ahead of him in qualifying, he gained three places and will start tomorrow’s race from thirteenth on the grid.
CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P13 in 1’34.520
“It was definitely not an easy day. In FP2 we had very little time to work, and that penalised us somewhat ahead of qualifying. In Q2 I wasn’t able to find the feeling I was looking for and, above all, I couldn’t put together the lap we needed to be where we wanted. We will start from sixteenth position, so from the sixth row, and tomorrow we will have to make a good start and recover ground from the very first laps. Race pace will be important, and we will try to make the most of the work we have done to achieve the best possible result”.
LUCA LUNETTA #32: P22 in 1’35.294
“It was a so-so Saturday. I expected to get a little more out of it, especially because this is our home race, but the day that really counts is tomorrow. I’m motivated and ready to give it my all. We still need to sort out a few aspects of the bike to find the right feeling, but I’m confident. We start from twenty-third position, so we have a race of recovery ahead of us, and I want to make the most of every opportunity to get the maximum out of it”.
