#JPNGP – GP DEL GIAPPONE: SOLIDA GARA DI VIETTI, SESTO POSTO A MOTEGI. LUNETTA CHIUDE 21°
JAPANESE GP: SOLID RACE FOR VIETTI, SIXTH PLACE AT MOTEGI. LUNETTA FINISHES 21ST
The Japanese Grand Prix at the Motegi circuit has come to an end, with Celestino Vietti delivering a solid performance to secure sixth place at the chequered flag. It was a more difficult race for Luca Lunetta, who finished the GP in 21st position.
Vietti made a strong start and immediately moved up to seventh position, behind Holgado. From the opening laps, the number 13 showed a competitive pace, staying behind the Spanish rider for a long time and waiting for the right moment to make his move. Once he completed the overtake on number 96, Celestino began chasing the Top 5, progressively increasing his pace. With a particularly strong race pace, he confirmed himself as one of the fastest riders on track and, on lap 13, also set the fastest lap of the race with a 1’47.479. The number 13 eventually crossed the finish line in sixth place, securing valuable championship points.
It was a more challenging race for Luca Lunetta, who encountered some difficulties from the early stages and was unable to be as incisive as he would have liked. The young rookie therefore finished the Japanese Grand Prix in P21, bringing the Motegi weekend to a close and now looking ahead to the next round: the Indonesian GP, scheduled for October 9–11.
CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P6
“A great Sunday, I really enjoyed it! The feeling with the bike was very good and we managed to close the gap to the front group. Unfortunately, yesterday’s mistake meant we had to start further back, which penalised us a little in terms of the final result. Nevertheless, we leave Japan with plenty of positives and we’ll try to do even better in Indonesia. A big thank you to the whole team for the great work throughout the weekend. See you!”.
LUCA LUNETTA #32: P21
“It was definitely a difficult race. From the start, I wasn’t able to be as incisive as I would have liked, and that affected my whole race. I tried to recover and find my rhythm, but today we didn’t have the pace needed to make the comeback we were hoping for. It’s a result that we’re not satisfied with, but we have to look ahead. We have little time to recharge and prepare for the next round in Indonesia”.
