DAY 1 INDONESIAN GP: Q1 OBBLLIGATORIA PER I PILOTI DEL BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM

A pochi giorni dal GP del Giappone, il Beta Tools SpeedRS Team è approdato al Mandalika International Circuit per la prima giornata del Gran Premio d’Indonesia. Non il miglior venerdì per la squadra: né Celestino Vietti né Alonso López sono riusciti a centrare l’accesso diretto alla Q2 e dovranno quindi affrontare prima la Q1 di domani.

La giornata è iniziata subito sotto un sole cocente con una FP1 positiva per Vietti, capace di siglare il miglior tempo della sessione in 1’33.245, mentre López ha chiuso in P17 (1’34.097).

Nel pomeriggio, però, le cose si sono complicate per il numero 13. Dopo aver segnato il giro più veloce nei primi minuti della Practice, Vietti è scivolato ed è stato costretto a rientrare ai box. Una lunga sosta per modifiche e aggiustamenti, seguita da ulteriori problemi tecnici, ne hanno compromesso il lavoro. Con soli 7 giri validi, il pilota piemontese si è fermato a un passo dalla top14, con un 1’33.573 come best time registrato poco prima della caduta.

Sessione difficile anche per López, che ha provato diverse soluzioni sulla sua Boscoscuro senza però riuscire a trovare il ritmo giusto. Lo spagnolo ha concluso in P19 (1’33.705) e quindi anche lui è momentaneamente fuori dalla Q2.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 19° in 1’33.705

“Oggi non è stata una giornata semplice per noi. In FP1 abbiamo fatto qualche progresso, ma nel pomeriggio non siamo riusciti a trovare il ritmo giusto e non siamo riusciti a entrare direttamente in Q2. Domani affronteremo la Q1 con determinazione: l’obiettivo è superarla e poter lottare per un buon piazzamento in griglia”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 15° in 1’33.573

“Un buon inizio stamattina, peccato invece per l’errore di oggi pomeriggio che ha compromesso un po’ i piani. Il feeling comunque è buono quindi domani cercheremo di affinare al meglio tutto in FP2 per fare delle buone qualifiche”.

DAY 1 INDONESIAN GP: Q1 MANDATORY FOR THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM RIDERS

A few days after the Japanese GP, the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team arrived at the Mandalika International Circuit for the first day of the Indonesian Grand Prix. It wasn’t the easiest Friday for the team: neither Celestino Vietti nor Alonso López managed to secure direct access to Q2 and will therefore have to go through Q1 tomorrow.

The day started under a scorching sun with a positive FP1 for Vietti, who set the fastest time of the session in 1’33.245, while López finished in P17 (1’34.097).

In the afternoon, things became more complicated for the number 13. After setting the fastest lap in the first minutes of Practice, Vietti crashed and was forced to return to the pits. A long stop for modifications and adjustments, followed by further technical issues, disrupted his session. With only 7 valid laps, the Italian rider stopped just short of the top 14, with a best time of 1’33.573 set shortly before the crash.

It was also a difficult session for López, who tried several solutions on his Boscoscuro but couldn’t find the right rhythm. The Spaniard finished in P19 (1’33.705), meaning he is also temporarily out of direct Q2 access.

“Today was not an easy day for us. In FP1 we made some progress, but in the afternoon we couldn’t find the right rhythm and didn’t manage to get directly into Q2. Tomorrow we will face Q1 with determination: the goal is to get through it and fight for a good grid position”.

“A good start this morning, but unfortunately the mistake in the afternoon disrupted our plans a bit. The feeling is still good, so tomorrow we’ll try to fine-tune everything in FP2 to aim for a strong qualifying session”.
