LÓPEZ E VIETTI SI STOPPANO IN Q1. ENTRAMBI PARTIRANNO DALLA SETTIMA FILA DI PARTENZA

Un sabato impegnativo per i piloti del Sync SpeedRS Team al Sepang International Circuit, dove né Alonso López né Celestino Vietti sono riusciti a centrare l’accesso alla Q2. Entrambi i portacolori scatteranno domani dalla settima fila della griglia di partenza.

Dopo una FP2 incoraggiante, chiusa con il sesto tempo (2’04.033) e con buone sensazioni, il pilota di Ciriè non è riuscito a replicare lo stesso feeling fermandosi con il settimo tempo (2’04.050) in Q1. Celestino partirà in diciannovesima posizione, una casella più avanti rispetto a quella prevista in seguito alla penalità inflitta a Ortolà per l’incidente che li ha coinvolti nell’ultimo giro delle prove libere.

López ha mostrato grandi progressi nelle FP2, migliorando il feeling generale con la moto e il tempo sul giro, ma in qualifica non è riuscito a concretizzare il potenziale mostrato in mattinata. Lo spagnolo ha chiuso la Q1 in sesta posizione (2’04.027), rimanendo così escluso dalla Q2. Domani condividerà la settima fila con il compagno di squadra.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 19° in 2’04.027

“Abbiamo fatto un grande passo in avanti questa mattina ma sfortunatamente la Q1 non è andata come pianificato. Domani partiamo dalla settima fila, il che non è l’ideale per poter sperare in un risultato eccellente in gara. Speriamo in una buona partenza e in un top 10/15”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 20° in 2’04.050

“Non è stato il sabato che mi aspettavo. Dopo una FP2 positiva pensavo di poter fare meglio in qualifica, ma non sono riuscito a trovare le stesse sensazioni. Domani sarà una gara dura, sia per il caldo che per la posizione in griglia, ma cercheremo di dare il massimo sin dal via per recuperare terreno e fare una bella gara”.

LÓPEZ AND VIETTI STOP IN Q1. BOTH WILL START FROM THE SEVENTH ROW

A challenging Saturday for the Sync SpeedRS Team riders at the Sepang International Circuit, where neither Alonso López nor Celestino Vietti managed to make it through to Q2. Both riders will line up tomorrow on the seventh row of the starting grid.

After an encouraging FP2, which he finished in sixth place (2’04.033) with good feelings, the rider from Ciriè was unable to replicate the same sensation in qualifying, stopping with the seventh-best time (2’04.050) in Q1. Celestino will start from nineteenth position, one spot ahead of what was initially expected due to the penalty handed to Ortolà for the incident that involved them on the final lap of free practice.

López showed great progress in FP2, improving both his overall feeling with the bike and his lap time, but in qualifying he was unable to capitalize on the potential shown in the morning. The Spaniard finished Q1 in sixth position (2’04.027), thus missing out on Q2. Tomorrow, he will share the seventh row with his teammate.

“We made a big step forward this morning, but unfortunately Q1 didn’t go as planned. Tomorrow we’ll start from the seventh row, which isn’t ideal if we want to aim for a great race result. We’ll hope for a good start and to finish in the top 10–15”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #21: 20th – 2’04.050
“It wasn’t the Saturday I was expecting. After a positive FP2 I thought I could do better in qualifying, but I wasn’t able to find the same feeling. Tomorrow will be a tough race, both because of the heat and our starting position, but we’ll try to give our best from the start to recover positions and have a good race”.
