Dopo la pausa estiva, il Campionato del Mondo Moto2™ è tornato protagonista sullo storico tracciato di Silverstone, sede del primo appuntamento della seconda parte di stagione 2026. Per il Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna, il team è sceso in pista con la speciale livrea GT Trevisan Macchine Utensili.

Il venerdì britannico si è chiuso con un bilancio positivo, soprattutto per Celestino Vietti, determinato a lasciarsi alle spalle lo sfortunato weekend del Gran Premio di Germania. Il pilota numero 13 ha aperto la giornata con il decimo tempo nelle FP1 in 2’03.423, per poi compiere un passo avanti nelle Practice del pomeriggio. Grazie a un efficace lavoro sul set-up, Vietti ha abbassato il proprio riferimento fino a 2’02.690, terminando in nona posizione e conquistando così l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani.

Luca Lunetta invece, reduce dal terzo posto conquistato su questo tracciato nel 2025 in Moto3, ha sfruttato le due sessioni odierne per continuare a prendere confidenza con la sua Boscoscuro, lavorando principalmente sul miglioramento delle linee, della percorrenza e della fase di frenata. Il pilota romano ha chiuso le FP1 in P24 con il tempo di 2’04.595, mentre nelle Practice ha fermato il cronometro in 2’03.132 in 21esima posizione. Luca dovrà quindi passare dalla Q1 nella giornata di domani, con l’obiettivo di conquistare l’accesso alla fase decisiva.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P9 in 2’02.690

“È stato un buon venerdì, siamo ripartiti bene dopo la pausa estiva. Il feeling con la moto è positivo e questo ci ha permesso di lavorare in maniera efficace. Dobbiamo comunque sistemare gli ultimi dettagli, così da arrivare il più preparati possibile alla gara. Ci manca ancora qualcosina, ma l’inizio del weekend è stato sicuramente positivo. Dobbiamo solo affinare alcuni aspetti  per continuare a lavorare nella giusta direzione”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P21 in 2’03.132

“È stato un venerdì molto intenso, con tanto lavoro da fare. Siamo tornati dalla pausa con grande motivazione e tanta voglia di fare bene. Non è stata una giornata semplice, perché questa è una pista molto lunga e bisogna trovare il giusto feeling in tante curve, lavorando su ogni piccolo dettaglio. La pista mi piace molto e nel pomeriggio abbiamo fatto un grande passo avanti. Il team sta lavorando al 100% per mettermi nelle condizioni di avere la miglior versione possibile della moto. Ci manca ancora un piccolo step, ma sono molto fiducioso: penso che domani possiamo fare un ulteriore salto di qualità, sia a livello di set-up sia nell’interpretazione della pista. BRITISH GP: VIETTI SECURES DIRECT ACCESS TO Q2, WHILE LUNETTA WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH Q1

After the summer break, the Moto2™ World Championship returned to action at the historic Silverstone Circuit, hosting the first round of the second half of the 2026 season. For the British Grand Prix, the team took to the track with the special GT Trevisan Macchine Utensili livery.

The British Friday ended with a positive overall result, especially for Celestino Vietti, who was determined to put the unfortunate German Grand Prix weekend behind him. The #13 rider started the day with the tenth-fastest time in FP1, setting a 2’03.423, before making further progress in the afternoon Practice session. Thanks to effective set-up work, Vietti improved his benchmark to 2’02.690, finishing ninth and securing direct access to tomorrow’s Q2.

Luca Lunetta, meanwhile, coming off a third-place finish at this circuit in the 2025 Moto3™ season, used today’s two sessions to continue building confidence with his Boscoscuro, mainly focusing on improving his lines, corner speed and braking phase. The Roman rider finished FP1 in 24th position with a time of 2’04.595, while in Practice he stopped the clock at 2’03.132, placing 21st overall. Luca will therefore have to go through Q1 tomorrow, with the aim of securing a place in the decisive qualifying session.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P9 in 2’02.690

“It was a good Friday; we started again strongly after the summer break. The feeling with the bike is positive, and this allowed us to work effectively. We still need to fine-tune the final details in order to arrive as prepared as possible for the race. We are still missing a little something, but the start of the weekend has definitely been positive. We just need to refine a few aspects and continue working in the right direction”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P21 in 2’03.132

“It was a very intense Friday, with a lot of work to do. We came back from the break highly motivated and with a great desire to do well. It was not an easy day, because this is a very long track and you need to find the right feeling through many corners, working on every small detail. I really like the track and in the afternoon we made a big step forward. The team is working at 100% to put me in the best possible position and give me the best version of the bike. We are still missing one small step, but I am very confident: I think tomorrow we can make another improvement, both in terms of set-up and our understanding of the track.
