Q2 DIRETTA PER I PILOTI DEL BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM NELLA PRIMA GIORNATA DEL PORTUGUESE GP

Sulla spettacolare “montagna russa” dell’Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, il Beta Tools SpeedRS Team ha inaugurato il weekend del GP del Portogallo con una solida prestazione. Entrambi i piloti hanno infatti conquistato l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani, grazie all’undicesimo (Vietti) al quattordicesimo tempo (López).

Celestino Vietti ha mostrato fin da subito un ottimo feeling con il tracciato portoghese, chiudendo la FP1 in quarta posizione con un ottimo 1’41.707. Nel pomeriggio, però, le condizioni meteo hanno mescolato le carte in tavola: la pioggia, arrivata a metà della seconda sessione, ha interrotto i tentativi di miglioramento del crono. Nonostante ciò, il pilota piemontese è riuscito a fermare il cronometro su un competitivo 1’41.896, siglato nelle fasi iniziali della Practice, che gli è valso l’undicesimo tempo complessivo e un posto diretto in Q2.

Giornata in crescita per Alonso López, che dopo una FP1 più impegnativa chiusa in P17 con il tempo di 1’42.424, ha lavorato insieme alla squadra per ottimizzare il setup della sua Boscoscuro. Nella Practice pomeridiana, il numero 21 ha migliorato il proprio riferimento fino a fermare il cronometro in 1’42.112, tempo che gli è valso l’ultimo pass disponibile per la Q2.

Al termine della giornata, tuttavia, il pilota spagnolo è stato sanzionato con una penalità di tre posizioni in griglia di partenza, da scontare nella gara di domenica.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 14° in 1’42.112

“Nella prima sessione non sono riuscito a trovare subito il giusto feeling con la moto e abbiamo faticato un po’. In FP2 però abbiamo fatto un buon passo avanti: il team ha lavorato bene sul setup e sono riuscito a migliorare le mie sensazioni in sella. Poi il meteo ha un po’ cambiato il lavoro previsto, ma il tempo fatto prima dell’arrivo della pioggia è bastato per entrare in Q2, e questo è molto importante per domani”.

“Siamo partiti bene, con un buon feeling, e siamo riusciti a lavorare sia sul giro veloce che sul ritmo. Questo pomeriggio non ho fatto un giro perfetto, però siamo comunque riusciti a entrare in Q2, che era l’obiettivo. Domani cercheremo di fare un altro passo avanti, ma per ora le sensazioni sono positive”.

DIRECT Q2 ENTRY FOR THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM RIDERS ON THE OPENING DAY OF THE PORTUGUESE GP

On the spectacular “roller coaster” of the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team kicked off the Portuguese GP weekend with a solid performance. Both riders secured direct access to tomorrow’s Q2, with Vietti setting the 11th fastest time and López the 14th.

Celestino Vietti showed great feeling with the Portuguese track right from the start, finishing FP1 in fourth place with an excellent 1’41.707. In the afternoon, however, the weather conditions mixed things up: rain arrived halfway through the second session, halting any further time improvements. Despite this, the Italian rider managed to record a competitive 1’41.896 in the early stages of Practice, which earned him 11th place overall and direct access to Q2.

It was a day of progress for Alonso López, who, after a more challenging FP1 that he closed in P17 with a time of 1’42.424, worked closely with his team to optimize the setup of his Boscoscuro. In the afternoon session, the number 21 improved his benchmark to stop the clock at 1’42.112, a time that secured him the final available spot for Q2.

At the end of the day, however, the Spanish rider was handed a three-place grid penalty, to be served in Sunday’s race.

“In the first session I couldn’t immediately find the right feeling with the bike, and we struggled a bit. In FP2, though, we made a good step forward: the team worked well on the setup, and I was able to improve my feeling on the bike. Then the weather changed our plans a bit, but the lap I set before the rain arrived was enough to get into Q2, which is really important for tomorrow”.

“We started well, with a good feeling, and managed to work both on the time attack and on race pace. This afternoon I didn’t put together a perfect lap, but we still made it directly into Q2, which was the goal. Tomorrow we’ll try to take another step forward, but for now the feeling is positive”.
