QUALIFICHE PORTUGUESE GP: VIETTI CONQUISTA LA TERZA FILA, LÓPEZ PARTIRA’ DALLA QUINTA 

Nelle qualifiche del Gran Premio del Portogallo, Celestino Vietti e Alonso López scatteranno rispettivamente dalla terza e dalla quinta fila della griglia di partenza.

La giornata è iniziata con una pista in condizioni miste, che hanno spinto Alonso a non prendere parte all’ultima sessione di prove libere. In qualifica, lo spagnolo ha realizzato il suo miglior giro già al primo tentativo, fermando il cronometro in 1’41.681. Nel secondo run non è riuscito a migliorarsi e ha chiuso inizialmente in dodicesima posizione. A causa della penalità ricevuta nella giornata di ieri, López dovrà partire domani dalla quindicesima casella, sempre dalla quinta fila.

Celestino, invece, è sceso in pista solo negli ultimi secondi delle FP2, senza riuscire a completare un giro valido per mancanza di tempo. In Q2, l’italiano ha firmato un ottimo 1’41.555, che gli è valso la nona posizione. Successivamente, grazie alla penalità inflitta a Muñoz, Vietti ha guadagnato una piazza, salendo all’ottavo posto e assicurandosi così la terza fila per la gara di domani.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 15° in 1’41.681

“Nelle FP2 abbiamo preferito non rischiare troppo e concentrarci direttamente sulla qualifica. In Q2 sono riuscito a fare subito un buon tempo nel primo giro lanciato, anche se poi non sono riuscito a migliorarmi nel secondo tentativo. Peccato per la penalità che mi costringerà a partire più indietro, ma so di poter fare una buona gara”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 8° in 1’41.555

“Questa mattina le condizioni della pista non ci hanno permesso di lavorare come avremmo voluto, quindi siamo usciti solo per provare la partenza. In qualifica avevo un buon feeling e sentivo di poter ottenere qualcosa in più rispetto al risultato finale, ma nel complesso sono soddisfatto dell’ottava posizione. Partire dalle prime file sarà importante per restare nel gruppo di testa e provare a conquistare il podio”.

PORTUGUESE GP QUALIFYING: VIETTI SECURES THIRD ROW, LÓPEZ TO START FROM FIFTH

In the qualifying session for the Portuguese Grand Prix, Celestino Vietti and Alonso López will start from the third and fifth rows of the grid, respectively.

The day began with mixed track conditions, which led Alonso López to skip the final free practice session. In qualifying, the Spaniard set his best lap on his first attempt, clocking 1’41.681. He was unable to improve on his second run and initially finished in twelfth place. Due to a penalty received yesterday, López will start tomorrow from fifteenth position, still in the fifth row.

Celestino, on the other hand, only went out in the final seconds of FP2 and was unable to complete a valid lap due to lack of time. In Q2, the Italian posted an excellent 1’41.555, which earned him ninth place. Later, thanks to a penalty applied to Muñoz, Vietti moved up one position to eighth, securing a spot in the third row for tomorrow’s race.

“In FP2 we preferred not to take too many risks and focused directly on qualifying. In Q2 I managed to set a good time on my first flying lap, although I couldn’t improve on the second attempt. It’s a pity about the penalty that will force me to start further back, but I know I can have a strong race”.

“This morning the track conditions didn’t allow us to work as we wanted, so we only went out to test the start. In qualifying, I had a good feeling and felt I could achieve a bit more than the final result, but overall I’m satisfied with eighth position. Starting from the front rows will be important to stay with the leading group and try to fight for the podium”.
