SpeedRS Team è tornato in azione dopo tre settimane di pausa in occasione del primo appuntamento europeo della stagione, sul Circuito de Jerez Ángel-Nieto, per il Gran Premio di Spagna. Per il weekend andaluso, la squadra scende in pista con la livrea firmata Beta Tools, storico partner del team.

Tra le novità spicca il rientro di Luca Lunetta, nuovamente in sella a meno di due mesi dall’infortunio rimediato in Thailandia: un primo passo importante nel percorso di recupero e di ritorno alla piena attività stagionale.

Indicazioni incoraggianti nella giornata di apertura, soprattutto da parte di Celestino Vietti. Il pilota numero 13 ha chiuso le FP1 in seconda posizione con il crono di 1’39.555. Nel turno pomeridiano, Vietti ha proseguito il lavoro su una diversa configurazione della sua Boscoscuro, migliorandosi ulteriormente fino a segnare, all’ultimo giro disponibile, un 1’39.535. Un crono che lascia margine di ulteriore miglioramento per la giornata di domani e che, nel frattempo, gli è valso l’accesso diretto alla Q2.

Giornata più impegnativa invece per Luca Lunetta. Al rientro dopo lo stop forzato, il pilota numero 32 ha sfruttato le sessioni per ritrovare ritmo e feeling con la moto, concentrandosi anche sul recupero della condizione fisica in vista della gara. Il giovane romano ha chiuso le Practice in ventiquattresima posizione con il tempo di 1’40.093 e sarà quindi chiamato a passare prima in Q1 nella giornata di domani.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P14 in 1’39.535

“Un buon venerdì. Siamo partiti bene questa mattina, con buone sensazioni. Abbiamo trovato una condizione simile al test, mentre nel pomeriggio ho avuto qualche difficoltà nel trovare la pista libera durante il time attack e ho fatto fatica a mettere tutto insieme. Non ho fatto un gran giro ma almeno siamo riusciti a entrare in Q2, che è l’obiettivo del venerdì pomeriggio. Vediamo domani di fare uno step”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P24 in 1’40.093

“Sono contento e soddisfatto della prima giornata di prove. Ovviamente sono super felice di tornare in sella e tornare a lavorare con i ragazzi: la squadra mi ha accolto a braccia aperte. Questo mi mette sicuramente a mio agio e mi dà la forza e la carica per fare bene. Abbiamo girato con dei buoni lap time, a +1.1 dal primo. C’è molto lavoro da fare ma sono super carico e ho voglia di migliorare. Un passetto alla volta dobbiamo riprendere il ritmo e migliorare, perché abbiamo pochi chilometri alle spalle, ma sono sicuro che faremo un gran lavoro. Questa gara sarà un punto di partenza per iniziare a lavorare in vista del futuro. Grazie a tutti per il supporto, come sempre”. 

SPANISH GP: VIETTI GOES STRAIGHT INTO Q2, LUNETTA RETURNS TO THE TRACK AFTER INJURY

The SpeedRS Team was back in action after a three-week break for the first European round of the season at the Circuito de Jerez Ángel-Nieto for the Spanish Grand Prix. For the Andalusian weekend, the team is on track with a special livery designed by Beta Tools, a long-standing partner of the team.

Among the key updates is the return of Luca Lunetta, back on the bike less than two months after the injury sustained in Thailand: an important first step in his recovery process and his return to full-season activity.

Encouraging signs on the opening day, especially from Celestino Vietti. The number 13 rider finished FP1 in second position with a lap time of 1:39.555. In the afternoon session, Vietti continued working on a different configuration of his Boscoscuro, improving further and eventually setting a 1:39.535 on his last available lap. A time that still leaves room for improvement for tomorrow and, in the meantime, secured him direct access to Q2.

A more challenging day instead for Luca Lunetta. On his return after the forced break, the number 32 rider used the sessions to regain rhythm and feeling with the bike, also focusing on recovering physical condition ahead of the race. The young Roman rider finished the Practice session in 24th position with a time of 1:40.093 and will therefore have to go through Q1 tomorrow.

“A good Friday. We started well this morning, with good sensations. We found a similar condition to the test, while in the afternoon I had some difficulties finding a clear track during the time attack and struggled to put everything together. I didn’t do a great lap, but at least we managed to get into Q2, which is the Friday afternoon goal. Let’s see tomorrow if we can make a step forward”.

“I’m happy and satisfied with the first day of practice. Obviously, I’m super happy to be back on the bike and working again with the team: they welcomed me with open arms. This definitely makes me feel comfortable and gives me strength and motivation to do well. We set good lap times, +1.1 from the leader. There is a lot of work to do, but I’m super motivated and eager to improve. Step by step we need to regain rhythm and improve, because we have limited mileage behind us, but I’m sure we will do a great job.
