Si è appena chiusa la prima giornata di attività in pista del Gran Premio degli Stati Uniti, con segnali positivi per l’HDR SpeedRS Team. Celestino Vietti ha ottenuto l’accesso diretto alla Q2 grazie all’ottavo tempo nelle Practice del venerdì, mentre Dennis Foggia dovrà passare prima per la Q1.

Vietti ha iniziato il weekend nel migliore dei modi, chiudendo la FP1 al comando con il crono di 2’06.724, mostrando subito grande feeling con la pista. Nel pomeriggio, il numero 13 ha completato la Practice nonostante una caduta che ha interrotto il programma previsto, chiudendo ottavo in 2’06.763 e assicurandosi così l’accesso diretto alla Q2.

Giornata più complessa per Foggia, limitato da un dolore al braccio fin dalle FP1, chiuse in ventiseiesima posizione con il tempo di 2’09.273. Nella seconda prova, il pilota romano ha migliorato il ritmo fermando il cronometro a 2’07.850, ma un errore e una caduta a pochi minuti dal termine hanno fatto sì che il venerdì si chiudesse in P24. Domani Dennis dovrà passare per la Q1 per guadagnare un posto in Q2.

“Sicuramente è stato un buon venerdì: siamo stati competitivi fin da subito. Questa pista è molto impegnativa dal punto di vista tecnico, quindi è ancora più bello partire bene. Stamattina ho avuto un buon feeling, e anche nel pomeriggio la situazione è stata positiva, anche se purtroppo ho fatto una scivolata con la prima gomma che ha un po’ modificato i piani. Siamo comunque riusciti a entrare in Q2, che era l’obiettivo principale. Dobbiamo continuare su questo ritmo di lavoro e, domani, l’importante sarà fare una buona qualifica come sempre, evitando errori come quelli del Brasile, che ci avevano fatto partire indietro e reso più difficile la gara. Nel complesso sono soddisfatto: avanti così!”.

DENNIS FOGGIA #8: P24 in 2’07.850

“Peccato sia per le FP1 che la Practice perchè non siamo riusciti a mettere insieme un giro buono. Stamattina ero nei primi 10, ma poi ci hanno cancellato il tempo, e oggi pomeriggio potevamo entrare in Q2, ma ho sbagliato marcia e sono rimasto fuori. Il potenziale c’è, bisogna solo mettere insieme i vari pezzi e possiamo stare tranquilli nel gruppo di mezzo. Grazie alla squadra per il supporto, continuiamo a imparare”.

VIETTI ENDS FRIDAY AT THE US GP IN P8, FOGGIA OUT OF PROVISIONAL Q2

The first day of track action at the United States Grand Prix has come to an end, with positive signs for the HDR SpeedRS Team. Celestino Vietti secured direct entry to Q2 thanks to the eighth-fastest time in Friday’s Practice, while Dennis Foggia will have to go through Q1 first.

Vietti started the weekend in the best possible way, topping FP1 with a lap time of 2’06.724, immediately showing great feeling with the track. In the afternoon, the number 13 completed the Practice despite a crash that interrupted the planned program, finishing eighth in 2’06.763 and securing direct entry to Q2.

It was a more challenging day for Foggia, limited by an arm injury already in FP1, which he completed in 26th place with a time of 2’09.273. In the second session, the rider from Rome improved his pace, setting a best lap of 2’07.850, but a mistake and a crash a few minutes from the end meant he finished Friday in P24. Tomorrow, Dennis will have to go through Q1 to earn a spot in Q2.

“Overall, it was a good Friday: we were competitive from the start. This is a very technically demanding track, so it’s even better to get off to a strong start. I felt good this morning, and the afternoon went well too, although unfortunately I had a slide on the first tire that slightly disrupted our plans. We still managed to get into Q2, which was the main goal. We need to keep working at this pace, and tomorrow the important thing will be to do a solid qualifying as always, avoiding mistakes like in Brazil, which had put us further back and made the race harder. Overall, I’m satisfied: let’s keep it going!”.

“It’s a shame for both FP1 and the Practice because we weren’t able to put together a really good lap. This morning I was in the top 10, but then my time was cancelled, and this afternoon we could have made it into Q2, but I missed a gear and ended up outside. The potential is there, we just need to put all the pieces together and we can be comfortably in the middle group. Thanks to the team for the support, we keep learning”.
