Al Circuit of the Americas, Celestino Vietti conquista la seconda fila nelle qualifiche del Gran Premio degli Stati Uniti, mentre Dennis Foggia sarà costretto a partire dalle retrovie dopo una Q1 complicata.

La giornata di sabato si è aperta con una FP2 disputata sotto un cielo nuvoloso e con temperature decisamente più basse rispetto alla giornata precedente, condizioni che non hanno permesso ai piloti dell’HDR SpeedRS Team di migliorare i propri best time. Vietti ha chiuso l’ultima sessione di prove libere in ottava posizione con il tempo di 2’06.867, mentre Foggia ha terminato ventottesimo in 2’08.496.

Nel pomeriggio, Celestino è stato protagonista di un’ottima Q2, riuscendo ad abbassare il proprio crono di oltre un secondo rispetto alla Practice di ieri. Il pilota di Ciriè ha fermato il cronometro sul 2’05.500, tempo che gli è valso la quinta posizione e la seconda fila sulla griglia di partenza per la gara di domani, confermando il buon passo mostrato nel corso del weekend.

Dall’altro lato del box, Dennis ha incontrato maggiori difficoltà sin dalla FP2, complice il cambiamento delle condizioni della pista. In Q1, una bandiera rossa ha ulteriormente complicato la sessione e il numero 8 non è riuscito a trovare il feeling necessario per migliorarsi. Foggia partirà quindi dalla 27ª posizione, con l’obiettivo di recuperare posizioni in gara.

“È stata un’altra giornata positiva e sono contento, perché il feeling rimane buono. Stamattina le condizioni erano molto diverse e non è stato facile gestire la sessione con il freddo, soprattutto per quanto riguarda le gomme, ma nonostante questo siamo riusciti a confermare le sensazioni di ieri e anche la qualifica è andata bene, quindi sono soddisfatto. Siamo riusciti a fare due buoni giri da soli e questo è sicuramente positivo. È un peccato perché avrei potuto sfruttare meglio la condizione della pista, soprattutto nel T1 dove ho lasciato un po’ di tempo, mentre nel resto del tracciato sono stato competitivo. L’obiettivo era partire nelle prime due file e direi che lo abbiamo centrato. Domani sarà una gara fisicamente e tecnicamente impegnativa, sarà importante gestire bene la gomma posteriore, ma il potenziale c’è e ci sentiamo pronti per fare una buona gara”.

DENNIS FOGGIA #8: P27 in 2’07.406

“Non è stata una qualifica positiva: non sono riuscito a trovare il giusto feeling con la moto e stiamo perdendo troppo tempo sulle frenate. Domani sarà necessario un cambiamento significativo per raggiungere l’obiettivo e chiudere dunque in zona punti”.

US GP QUALIFYING: VIETTI SECURES SECOND ROW, FOGGIA STOPS IN Q1

At the Circuit of the Americas, Celestino Vietti secured a spot on the second row in the qualifying session for the Grand Prix of the United States, while Dennis Foggia will have to start from the back after a challenging Q1.

Saturday began with FP2 under cloudy skies and significantly lower temperatures compared to the previous day, conditions that did not allow the HDR SpeedRS Team riders to improve their best times. Vietti finished the session in eighth position with a time of 2’06.867, while Foggia ended in 28th place with 2’08.496.

In the afternoon, Celestino delivered an excellent Q2, lowering his time by over a second compared to yesterday’s practice. The rider from Ciriè stopped the clock at 2’05.500, securing fifth place and a spot on the second row for tomorrow’s race, confirming the strong pace he has shown throughout the weekend.

On the other side of the garage, Dennis faced greater difficulties from FP2 onwards due to the changing track conditions. In Q1, a red flag further complicated the session, and the number 8 was unable to find the necessary feeling to improve. Foggia will therefore start from 27th position, aiming to make up places in the race.

“It was another positive day and I’m happy because the feeling with the bike remains good. This morning the conditions were very different, and it wasn’t easy to manage the session with the cold, especially regarding the tyres, but despite this we were able to confirm the sensations from yesterday, and qualifying also went well, so I’m satisfied. We managed to do two good solo laps, which is definitely positive. It’s a pity because I could have used the track conditions better, especially in Turn 1 where I lost a bit of time, while on the rest of the circuit I was competitive. The goal was to start from the first two rows, and I’d say we achieved that. Tomorrow will be a physically and technically demanding race. Managing the rear tyre will be important, but the potential is there, and we feel ready to put in a good performance”.

“It wasn’t a positive qualifying: I wasn’t able to find the right feeling with the bike and we are losing too much time on braking. Tomorrow will require significant changes to reach the objective and finish in the points zone”.
