Grande giornata per il Beta Tools SpeedRS Team al Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Celestino Vietti conquista la pole position firmando anche il nuovo record assoluto della pista, mentre Luca Lunetta conferma il proprio percorso di crescita centrando l’accesso in Q2 e la quarta fila in griglia. 

Dopo una FP2 dedicata principalmente al lavoro sul passo gara, Vietti si è presentato alla sessione decisiva con grande sicurezza, dando continuità alle ottime sensazioni mostrate dall’inizio del weekend. Il pilota del Beta Tools SpeedRS Team ha infatti imposto il proprio ritmo sin dai primi minuti della Q2, conquistando la sua prima pole position con la squadra grazie a uno straordinario 1’41.076, crono che gli ha permesso di siglare anche il nuovo record del tracciato.

Weekend in costante crescita anche per Luca Lunetta. Dopo aver chiuso in ventesima posizione le prove libere del mattino, il rookie italiano ha reagito con determinazione in Q1, segnando il miglior tempo e guadagnandosi con merito l’accesso alla Q2. Nella prova conclusiva, Lunetta ha compiuto un ulteriore passo avanti, fermando il cronometro sull’1’41.681 e assicurandosi così la decima posizione. Un risultato significativo per il numero 32, che ha centrato la sua prima Q2 e la sua prima top ten in Moto2. 

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P1 in 1’41.076

“Sono veramente contento perché solitamente la qualifica è sempre stato uno dei miei punti deboli, invece questo weekend siamo stati competitivi in ogni sessione. Abbiamo lavorato molto bene anche questa mattina con le gomme usate e il feeling con la moto è stato subito ottimo. Fare la pole position con il record della pista è sicuramente una bellissima soddisfazione per me e per tutto il team. Adesso però dobbiamo rimanere concentrati perché la gara sarà lunga e sarà fondamentale gestire bene ogni dettaglio”. 

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P10 in 1’41.681

“Sono molto soddisfatto della giornata di oggi. Questa mattina abbiamo lavorato bene con gomme usate e in qualifica siamo riusciti a fare un grande step in termini di velocità e fiducia con la moto. Passare dalla Q1 con il miglior tempo è stato davvero bello e importante. In Q2 avevamo un potenziale ancora migliore, perché nel giro buono stavo guadagnando circa due decimi che mi avrebbero permesso di lottare addirittura per la prima fila, ma non sono riuscito a mettere insieme tutti i settori. Rimane comunque un sabato davvero positivo e un’esperienza importante da mettere in cascina per il futuro. Domani sarà fondamentale partire bene ed essere aggressivi fin dai primi giri. Voglio ringraziare tutto il team per il grande lavoro fatto e faccio anche i complimenti a Cele per la super pole position. Dedico questa giornata anche a una persona importante per me che purtroppo non c’è più, ma che continua a darmi la forza per affrontare tutto con maggiore lucidità”. 

CATALAN GP: POLE POSITION AND ALL-TIME LAP RECORD FOR VIETTI. LUNETTA SECURES FOURTH ROW

Great day for the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Celestino Vietti claimed pole position while also setting a new all-time lap record, as Luca Lunetta continued his growth by securing a place in Q2 and a fourth-row start on the grid.

After an FP2 session mainly focused on race pace work, Vietti headed into the decisive qualifying session with great confidence, confirming the strong feeling he had shown since the beginning of the weekend. The Beta Tools SpeedRS Team rider set the pace from the opening minutes of Q2, taking his first pole position with the team thanks to a stunning 1’41.076 lap, which also earned him the new lap record of the circuit.

A weekend of constant improvement also for Luca Lunetta. After finishing twentieth in the morning free practice session, the Italian rookie responded with determination in Q1, setting the fastest time and deservedly earning his place in Q2. In the final qualifying session, Lunetta made another step forward, stopping the clock at 1’41.681 and securing tenth position overall. An important result for the #32 rider, who claimed both his first Q2 appearance and his first Moto2 top ten.

“I’m really happy because qualifying has usually been one of my weak points, but this weekend we’ve been competitive in every session. We worked very well this morning with used tyres and the feeling with the bike was immediately great. Taking pole position with the lap record is definitely a fantastic satisfaction for me and for the whole team. Now we need to stay focused because the race will be long and it will be crucial to manage every detail”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P10 in 1’41.681

“I’m very satisfied with today’s result. This morning we worked well with used tyres and in qualifying we managed to make a big step in terms of speed and confidence with the bike. Coming through Q1 with the fastest time was really nice and important. In Q2 we actually had even more potential because on my best lap I was gaining around two tenths, which could have allowed me to fight for the front row, but I wasn’t able to put all the sectors together. Still, it was a very positive Saturday and an important experience for the future. Tomorrow it will be crucial to get a good start and be aggressive from the opening laps. I want to thank the whole team for the great job they’ve done and also congratulate Cele for the amazing pole position. I also dedicate this day to someone very important to me who is no longer here, but who continues to give me the strength to face everything with even more clarity”.
