Si apre nel migliore dei modi il fine settimana del GP di Catalogna per il Beta Tools SpeedRS Team, protagonista assoluto del venerdì grazie a uno straordinario Celestino Vietti, capace di imporsi in entrambe le sessioni di giornata.

Il pilota di Ciriè ha trovato subito un eccellente feeling con la sua Boscoscuro, adattandosi alla perfezione alle basse temperature che hanno influenzato l’intero turno di prove. Nelle FP1 Vietti ha subito imposto il proprio ritmo, fermando il cronometro sull’1’42.028 e chiudendo la sessione in vetta alla classifica. Nel pomeriggio il numero 13 ha ulteriormente alzato il livello, abbassando il riferimento fino a un eccellente 1’41.611. Un crono che gli ha permesso non solo di confermarsi leader assoluto del venerdì, ma anche di conquistare l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani.

Progressi importanti anche per Luca Lunetta, in evidente crescita tra mattina e pomeriggio. Dopo il 1’43.973 delle FP1, il numero 32 ha limato oltre un secondo nella Practice, fermando il cronometro sull’1’42.770. Nonostante il passo avanti, Lunetta resta fuori dalla top 14 e dovrà passare dalla Q1 per giocarsi l’accesso alla fase decisiva.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P1 in 1’41.611

“Un buon inizio. Stamattina abbiamo provato la nuova gomma posteriore, ma con queste temperature è difficile farla lavorare al meglio. Siamo quindi tornati alla soluzione che mi dava più feeling e abbiamo lavorato bene. C’è ancora qualcosa da sistemare, ma le sensazioni sono positive: siamo sulla strada giusta. Domani dobbiamo mettere insieme una buona qualifica, che è sempre il mio punto debole. Il target sono le prime due file e so che possiamo riuscirci”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P23 in 1’42.770

“Dobbiamo analizzare bene cosa è successo oggi. In realtà, nella seconda prova ho avuto un buon feeling e abbiamo sistemato un po’ la frenata, su cui dopo Le Mans dovevamo assolutamente lavorare. Nelle practice ho avuto buone sensazioni, anche se non sono stato super incisivo. Ho fatto alcuni errori nel time attack con la seconda gomma. Dobbiamo mettere tutto a posto, sistemare qualcosina e fare un altro passo avanti. Sono fiducioso che domani possiamo fare molto meglio”.

VIETTI TOPS FRIDAY AT THE CATALAN GP. LUNETTA PROVISIONALLY OUT OF Q2

The Catalan GP weekend got off to the best possible start for the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team, which starred throughout Friday thanks to an outstanding Celestino Vietti, who topped both sessions of the day.

The rider from Ciriè immediately found an excellent feeling with his Boscoscuro, adapting perfectly to the low temperatures that marked the day. In FP1, Vietti immediately set the pace, stopping the clock at 1’42.028 and finishing the session at the top of the standings. In the afternoon, the #13 rider raised the bar even further, lowering the benchmark to an impressive 1’41.611. A lap time that not only confirmed him as the outright leader of Friday, but also secured him direct access to tomorrow’s Q2.

Important progress also came from Luca Lunetta, who showed clear improvement between the morning and afternoon sessions. After posting a 1’43.973 in FP1, the #32 rider shaved more than a second off his time in Practice, stopping the clock at 1’42.770. Despite the step forward, Lunetta remains outside the top 14 and will have to go through Q1 to fight for a place in the decisive qualifying session.

“It’s been a good start. This morning we tried the new rear tyre, but with these temperatures it’s difficult to get it working at its best. So we went back to the solution that gave me more feeling and we worked well. There’s still something to improve, but the feeling is positive: we’re on the right path. Tomorrow we need to put together a good qualifying session, which has always been my weak point. The target is the first two rows, and I know we can achieve it”.

“We need to carefully analyse what happened today. Actually, in the second session I had a good feeling and we improved the braking a bit, which was something we absolutely needed to work on after Le Mans. I had good sensations in Practice, even if I wasn’t particularly incisive. I made a few mistakes in the time attack with the second tyre. We need to put everything together, fine-tune a few details and make another step forward. I’m confident that tomorrow we can do much better”.
