Il GP di Francia si è aperto oggi sul circuito di Le Mans con il ritorno in pista della livrea rosso fiammante dello SpeedRS Team, firmata Folladore Sabbiatura & Verniciatura. Un venerdì positivo per Celestino Vietti, tra i protagonisti assoluti della giornata, mentre Luca Lunetta è stato fermato da una caduta nel corso della Practice pomeridiana. 

Vietti si è dimostrato competitivo sin dalle prime uscite del mattino, chiudendo le FP1 in terza posizione con il tempo di 1’34.841, ottenuto nel suo ultimo tentativo disponibile. Nel pomeriggio il numero 13 ha confermato le buone sensazioni, abbassando ulteriormente i propri riferimenti fino a firmare un 1’34.350, a soli due millesimi dal miglior crono della giornata. Una prestazione solida e consistente che gli vale il secondo posto complessivo nelle Practice e l’accesso diretto alla Q2 di domani. 

Venerdì più complicato invece per Lunetta. Dopo un buon avvio nelle FP1, concluse in diciottesima posizione con il tempo di 1’35.677, il giovane pilota italiano è stato costretto a interrompere anticipatamente la Practice del pomeriggio a causa di una caduta. Senza la possibilità di completare la sessione e migliorare il proprio crono, Luca ha chiuso la prima giornata francese in ventottesima posizione e domani dovrà passare dalla Q1.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P2 in 1’34.350

“È stato un buon venerdì. Questa mattina abbiamo apportato alcuni cambiamenti alla moto, quindi abbiamo dovuto lavorare un po’ per adattarci, ma ogni volta che siamo scesi in pista siamo riusciti a migliorare. Sono contento del lavoro del team. Dobbiamo continuare su questa strada perché stiamo riducendo sempre di più il gap dai primi. Ora restiamo concentrati per fare una buona qualifica e prepararci al meglio per la domenica”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P28 in 1’36.333

“Non è stata la giornata che speravamo. La mattina è andata abbastanza bene, ho trovato un buon feeling nelle FP1, anche se c’era ancora margine per migliorare. Nel pomeriggio purtroppo la caduta ha cambiato tutto. È un errore che fa parte del processo di crescita, ma dispiace perché non mi ha permesso di completare il lavoro previsto. Fisicamente sto bene, questo è l’aspetto più importante. Adesso l’obiettivo è resettare subito e concentrarsi su domani”.

FRENCH GP: VIETTI SECOND IN PRACTICE, CRASH FOR LUNETTA

The French Grand Prix kicked off today at the Le Mans circuit with the return of the SpeedRS Team’s bright red livery, designed by Folladore Sabbiatura & Verniciatura. It was a positive Friday for Celestino Vietti, one of the standout performers of the day, while Luca Lunetta was hampered by a crash during the afternoon Practice session.

Vietti showed strong pace from the very first runs in the morning, finishing FP1 in third position with a lap time of 1’34.841, set on his final available attempt. In the afternoon, the number 13 confirmed his strong feeling with the bike, improving further to post a 1’34.350, just two thousandths off the fastest lap of the day. A solid and consistent performance that earned him second place overall in Practice and direct access to tomorrow’s Q2.

A more difficult Friday for Lunetta. After a promising start in FP1, where he finished 18th with a time of 1’35.677, the young Italian rider was forced to end his Practice session early due to a crash. Unable to return to the track and improve his lap time, Luca closed the first day in France in 28th position and will have to go through Q1 tomorrow.

“It was a good Friday. This morning we made some changes to the bike, so we had to work a bit to adapt, but every time we went out we managed to improve. I’m happy with the team’s work. We need to keep going in this direction because we are closing the gap to the front step by step. Now we stay focused to have a strong qualifying and prepare as well as possible for Sunday”.

“It wasn’t the day we were hoping for. The morning went reasonably well, I found a good feeling in FP1, even though there was still room for improvement. In the afternoon, unfortunately, the crash changed everything. It’s a mistake that is part of the learning process, but it’s frustrating because I couldn’t complete the planned work. Physically I’m fine, which is the most important thing. Now the goal is to reset immediately and focus on tomorrow”.
