Il sabato del Gran Premio di Germania si chiude con sensazioni contrastanti per il MB Conveyors SpeedRS Team. Luca Lunetta conquista l’accesso alla Q2 e scatterà domani dalla dodicesima casella in griglia, mentre Celestino Vietti non riesce a superare la Q1 e sarà costretto a partire dall’ottava fila.

Nelle FP2, Lunetta ha confermato i progressi mostrati nel corso del weekend, chiudendo la sessione al dodicesimo posto con il crono di 1’22.840. Più complicato, invece, è stato il turno di prove libere per Vietti, che ha concluso in diciassettesima posizione con il tempo di 1’22.916.

In qualifica, il pilota numero 32 ha alzato ulteriormente l’asticella. Dopo aver dominato la Q1 con il miglior tempo in 1’22.269, Luca ha conquistato l’accesso in Q2, dove ha fermato il cronometro sull’1’22.127. Un risultato che gli è valso la dodicesima posizione in griglia e la partenza dalla quarta fila nella gara di domani.

Giornata più complicata invece per Vietti. Il pilota torinese non è riuscito a trovare il giusto feeling con il tracciato del Sachsenring e, nonostante i diversi tentativi, si è fermato in Q1 con il tempo di 1’22.535. Un risultato che lo costringerà a scattare dalla ventiduesima posizione, in ottava fila, e ad affrontare una gara tutta in rimonta.

“Stiamo lavorando per migliorare, i ragazzi mi stanno aiutando tanto. Oggi abbiamo fatto qualche step in avanti, anche se c’è ancora molto da fare. Cercheremo di perfezionare il tutto per fare la miglior gara possibile domani, anche se non sarà facile. Sarà una gara di gestione del posteriore e cercheremo di lavorare il meglio possibile”.

“È stata una giornata molto positiva. Questa mattina nelle FP2 abbiamo fatto ancora qualche prova sulla moto per cercare di migliorare un po’ l’anteriore, che è l’unico aspetto che ci sta dando ancora qualche problema. Sembra che abbiamo trovato una buona strada e infatti in qualifica siamo arrivati pronti. In Q1 sono riuscito a essere il più veloce e a conquistare il pass per la Q2. Nella seconda sessione non sono riuscito a mettere insieme tutti i settori al meglio, come dimostra anche l’ideal time, ma sono comunque molto contento e soddisfatto del lavoro fatto. Ormai abbiamo consolidato la nostra velocità: è tutto il weekend che siamo competitivi e veloci, quindi sono molto fiducioso in vista della gara di domani. Oggi pomeriggio dovremo lavorare tanto dopo le prove, analizzare tutti i dati insieme al box e fare la scelta migliore soprattutto per quanto riguarda il pneumatico posteriore. Siamo carichi per domani: la voglia di fare bene è davvero tanta”.

GERMAN GP QUALIFYING: LUNETTA CLAIMS FOURTH ROW START; VIETTI TO START FROM EIGHTH ROW

The Saturday of the German Grand Prix ended with mixed feelings for the MB Conveyors SpeedRS Team. Luca Lunetta secured access to Q2 and will start tomorrow’s race from twelfth on the grid, while Celestino Vietti was unable to make it through Q1 and will have to start from the eighth row.

In FP2, Lunetta confirmed the progress shown throughout the weekend, finishing the session in twelfth place with a lap time of 1’22.840. The free practice session was more challenging for Vietti, who ended the session in seventeenth position with a time of 1’22.916.

In qualifying, rider #32 raised the bar even further. After dominating Q1 with the fastest lap of 1’22.269, Luca secured his place in Q2, where he stopped the clock at 1’22.127. This result earned him twelfth place on the grid and a start from the fourth row in tomorrow’s race.

A more difficult day for Vietti. The Turin rider was unable to find the right feeling with the Sachsenring circuit and, despite several attempts, he finished Q1 with a time of 1’22.535. This result means he will start from twenty-second position, on the eighth row, and will face a race that will require a strong comeback.

“We are working to improve, and the guys are helping me a lot. Today we made some steps forward, although there is still a lot of work to do. We will try to fine-tune everything to have the best possible race tomorrow, even if it won’t be easy. It will be a race where managing the rear tyre will be crucial, and we will try to work in the best possible way”.

“It has been a very positive day. This morning in FP2 we continued testing some solutions on the bike to improve the front end, which is the only area where we are still having some issues. It looks like we have found a good direction, and we arrived ready for qualifying. In Q1 I managed to be the fastest and secure the pass into Q2. In the second session I wasn’t able to put all the sectors together perfectly, as also shown by the ideal lap time, but I am still very happy and satisfied with the work we have done. By now we have consolidated our speed: we have been competitive and fast throughout the whole weekend, so I am very confident ahead of tomorrow’s race. This afternoon we will have to work hard after the sessions, analyse all the data together with the team, and make the best choice, especially regarding the rear tyre. We are ready for tomorrow: the desire to do well is really strong”.
