Il sabato del Gran Premio d’Austria si chiude con entrambi i piloti del Beta Tools SpeedRS Team in quinta fila sulla griglia di partenza.

A causa delle condizioni ancora bagnate della pista, Celestino Vietti e Luca Lunetta hanno scelto di non scendere in pista durante la FP2, preferendo preservarsi e non correre rischi.

Nel pomeriggio, Luca è stato protagonista di una buona qualifica. Il giovane rookie ha superato con successo la Q1, segnando il terzo miglior tempo nel primo run, con un crono di 1’33.205. Una volta in Q2, Lunetta ha conquistato la quattordicesima posizione in 1’33.204, risultato che gli consentirà di scattare domani dalla quinta fila.

Qualifica più complicata, invece, per Celestino, che sul tracciato austriaco ha sempre dimostrato di avere un buon feeling. Il pilota piemontese non è riuscito a mettere insieme il giro che avrebbe voluto, pagando alcuni errori che ne hanno condizionato la prova. Nonostante questo, Vietti ha chiuso la sessione al tredicesimo posto con un tempo di 1’33.119, conquistando così anche lui un posto in quinta fila, al fianco del compagno di squadra.

“Questa mattina abbiamo scelto di non scendere in pista nelle FP2 perché le condizioni non erano ancora ideali e non valeva la pena prendere rischi inutili. In qualifica, invece, mi aspettavo qualcosa in più, soprattutto perché su questa pista ho sempre avuto un buon feeling. Partiremo dalla tredicesima posizione, quindi dalla quinta fila, che non è sicuramente il risultato che avremmo voluto, ma la gara è domani e abbiamo ancora la possibilità di recuperare”.

LUCA LUNETTA #32: P14 in 1’33.204

“È stato un sabato positivo. Questa mattina non siamo riusciti a fare praticamente nulla a causa delle condizioni della pista, che non erano buone: era mezza asciutta e mezza bagnata e non avremmo potuto lavorare su niente di concreto, quindi abbiamo preferito rimanere ai box. La qualifica è andata bene e sono contento di essere riuscito a passare dal Q1 al Q2. Non sono riuscito a mettere insieme al meglio tutti i settori, perché il nostro ideal time era di un paio di decimi migliore, però sono contento dello step che abbiamo fatto. In ogni sessione riusciamo a migliorare e il gap con i primi si riduce sempre di più, e questa è la cosa più importante. Adesso dobbiamo concentrarci sulla gara di domani. Partiamo quattordicesimi, ma abbiamo tanta voglia di recuperare posizioni e andare avanti”.

FIFTH ROW FOR BOTH THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM RIDERS AT THE RED BULL RING

Saturday of the Austrian Grand Prix ends with both Beta Tools SpeedRS Team riders starting from the fifth row of the grid.

With the track still wet, Celestino Vietti and Luca Lunetta chose not to take part in FP2, preferring to play it safe and avoid unnecessary risks.

In the afternoon, Luca delivered a strong qualifying performance. The young rookie successfully progressed through Q1, setting the third-fastest time in the first run with a lap of 1’33.205. In Q2, Lunetta secured 14th place with a time of 1’33.204, earning a start from the fifth row tomorrow.

Qualifying proved more challenging for Celestino, who has always shown a good feeling with the Austrian track. The Italian rider was unable to put together the lap he had hoped for, making a few mistakes that affected his session. Despite this, Vietti finished 13th with a time of 1’33.119, also securing a place on the fifth row alongside his teammate.

“This morning we chose not to go out for FP2 because the conditions were not yet ideal and it wasn’t worth taking unnecessary risks. In qualifying, however, I was expecting something more, especially because I have always had a good feeling at this track. We will start from 13th position, so from the fifth row, which is certainly not the result we wanted, but the race is tomorrow and we still have the chance to recover”.

“It was a positive Saturday. This morning we practically couldn’t do anything because the track conditions were not good: it was half dry and half wet, and we wouldn’t have been able to work on anything concrete, so we preferred to stay in the garage. Qualifying went well and I’m happy to have made it from Q1 into Q2. I wasn’t able to put all the sectors together perfectly, as our ideal time was a couple of tenths faster, but I’m happy with the step forward we made. In every session we manage to improve, and the gap to the front gets smaller and smaller, and that’s the most important thing. Now we have to focus on tomorrow’s race. We start 14th, but we are very motivated to recover positions and move forward”.
